I don't think so but Adina or Clark will have to tell us.  I think we should start a "no ad" movement as I believe that most of us think that they are really annoying, ruin the look and feel of the page, etc.
But they generate the money needed to keep DK up and running!
yes they do.
No, they aren't.

No the Ads are the usual "Buyer Beware" but I am sure most are fine!

The purpose of the Ads are to generate dollars for DK and DK generates dollars for the Rescue, unfortunately they ARE a necessary evil!

Several breeder ads are "looking" at me as I type. They seem sometimes to relate to the content of the post. I totally ignore them at this point. I figure we can vote with our fingers and maybe they will go away. I totally support going to Amazon through DK and buying other things you want through DK if feasible. Of course, I want to support DK. But I think some things are intrusive. Even if I wanted something I saw in one of these ads, attached to a discussion, I would look for it on the web but I will not click on it here. Who would buy a puppy through these brokers anyway?

You would avoid clicking on an ad for something you are interested in because it's on DK? I don't understand, but you are completely free to do that. You do understand that minimizing one source of revenue to DK will probably mean that we would be forced to seek other sources of revenue, and you might like that even less than the ads. :-)
I am against the ads in the discussions and will not support that, yes. But I am all for paying money for the privilege of having DK. It  hasn't been a lot but I have given money for the last two years voluntarily. I pay for TV service and internet service and would pay a membership fee here. I also spend a lot of time, because I want to, making my groups work well , organizing content, etc. I spend time giving the best advice I can to people when I think I can contribute something especially if involves areas in which I have some expertise. I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of calendars, literally. So it's not like I'm not supportive of DK but if the ads are successful I fear they will multiply and be more intrusive. And the content of many ads, breeder related, bad dog food, is offensive to me. And since the last sentence sounds like a warning, which using a dog analogy gets my hackles up, if something occurs that I really don't like and can't avoid on the site, I can pack my marbles and go home.
Well I'm on a healthy eating plan right now trying to lose weight and what shows up on my page - coupons for fast food places - Arbeys and some others!  REALLY?!  That burns my butt.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't a warning as much as just a likely possibility depending on how well ads do or don't do.  :-)
Hmmm. I suppose there's a lot in the way things are said. My understanding is pretty good but I may be overly aware, by training, to looks for nuances.

...Clark gets up from F's analysis couch feeling thoroughly refreshed...

Same time next week?  Excellent!  :-)
