Hi:

What is everyone hearing about this ....... at least to me disreputable company. They try to make their products look like they are manufactured in the USA but when you look more closely they are made in China.

Fortunately our girl had only one treat before it was discovered. I usually give her only liver treats .Unfortunately our friends dog dies last week from consuming pet treats from this company. I have noticed many comments on websites about pets dying from consuming products from this company.

Are these dog treats in Walmart??  I think I bought them once.  I didn't know.  I will not buy them anymore. Thank you.
I purchased and then returned the ones I had at Costco.I do think that they have them at Walmar tas well.

We have 3 or 4 discussions here in TFG about these; DO NOT GIVE THEM TO YOUR DOGS.

There is nothing sold at Walmart that is fit for any pet to consume.

Here's a link to a search I did here in the FG for these deadly treats:

These treats are what almost killed Taquito, Allyson's little dog, and gave him irreversible kidney damage.

I am putting this in the Danger Group.

Sorry I have been MIA.

JUST LIKE KAREN SAID, THESE ALMOST KILLED MY CHIHUAHUA.  I don't know how the heck he lived through it.  But he has kidney disease now :(

You are completely correct that this is a disreptuable company.  I bought mine at Costco, but they stopped selling them during all of those recalls. I have seen them at Walmart since, complained to management....no response!

OMD! DH just bought the Waggin train chicken jerky treats at Sam's 40oz.!! We've been giving these to the doodles for awhile now. Just don't know what to get anymore! We just switched to grain free food and want to do better treats any ideas ?? We will be returning these evenif we don't have a receipt. THANK YOU!!!!

We pretty much give the dogs antlers for "treats" now.  For training treats (small ones), we give blueberries, bits of apples, carrots, etc...  Sometimes doodle gets liver treats from the local bakery; sometimes we give Zukes.  Those are good too.

I am overly paranoid now.

As I mentioned somewhere else in this discussion, nothing sold for dogs at Walmart or Sam's Club is safe.

True Chews are chicken jerky made in Iowa by Tyson. Zukes treats are great, and Jones Natural also makes some good grain free treats. But you won't find the latter two in the bigger stores, you need a smaller pet boutique store.

Our local Petco is selling Zukes now, not sure if other stores carry it or not.

There are products on the market, in stores in every area, that have killed or injured dogs. There's a discussion here in the Food Group about ham bones that are still being sold even in nicer pet supply stores, despite their being responsible for the deaths and illnesses of dogs around the country. You cannot take it for granted that anything is safe for your dog just because it's available in a store and meant for dogs.

I personally would not buy any edible product for my pets from Walmart or Sam's Club, and although I have never been to Costco, I believe I would not trust anything there, either. These companies have to be making a profit. The only way to sell something at a low price and still make a profit is to make the product as cheaply as you possibly can. That would have to involve cheap ingredients and cheap production, and that's where the danger comes in.

Yes, I don't buy anything that I have not researched ahead of time any more.  Nothing that is "approved" by FG is in Sam's, Walmart, etc....
