More scary news, Ebay is selling animals

Sorry to have so much negative news early in the day. I just got this in my email. I signed the petition.

Ebay is selling animals in their classified ads, obviously this is a boon to puppy mills.

I don't mean to complicate the issue, but many animal shelters (at least in Florida) use eBay classifieds to place abandoned animals, and it looks like Petfinder is involved. Here's an example: http://jacksonville.ebayclassifieds.com/dogs-puppies/green-cove-spr...

Well that does complicate things. I guess they could find a better way or confine the ads to rescues.

I think it's actually a pretty smart way to help shelter dogs find homes--imagine if someone goes to the eBay classifieds thinking they want a particular kind of dog, and then sees that they can rescue that kind of dog from a shelter instead. Maybe they've never heard of Petfinder but now they've ended up on the Petfinder site anyway.
