Why can't people just keep their opinion to themselves.

WE went camping this weeekend as I am walking with Amante, (trying to walk is what I should say;-) )

We are approached by a group of women who are also walking. The conversation began as usual, "what an adorable puppy" me- thank you." What kind of puppy is he"  me-the kind that gets into everything.  Her-  very irritated "I meant what breed"  me- "he is a golden doodle". Her -"are you certain?' Me -"very" her- "well he looks like a cockapoo to me" me- " well he isn't" her- "well are you aware that some people don't do enough research and are tricked by so called breeders an are not given what they think . I think you are mistaken and have been taken for a fool,you have a cockapoo!" Me-" well I am sorry  if that thats what happened to you. But I have a Golden Doodle and he is smart too! She turned and walked away.

 SERIOUSLY!!!! My husband laughed so hard! why do these people find me!! Why do people think they can come up to a stranger and say these things. My husband says his favorite past time is to watch strangers talk to me insult me and watch me respond!!! I am a nice person. I would do almost anything for a complete stranger. What draws mean people to me. Was I wrong! She started it.!!!!

I get this all the time.  No, that looks nothing like a golden retriever mix--your dog is a poodle.   No, you are mistaken, your dog is a Portuguese Water Dog who must have genetics to have abnormally LONG LONG legs for a PWD!  It is constant.  I just tell them a mutt or mix and then they think I am terribly  LUCKY to have a mix that is so cute  :)

I tell people all the time that I am Scandinavian because I love to watch them turn their heads to the side like a dog. Yep.  I am Scandinavian ( not )

I gotta tell you that I just looked at your photos on your page and if your dog is a cock-a-poo, then so is my Vern. Wow...I have a 90 pound Cock-a-poo. LOL  Some people are just unhappy with their life and want to spread it around. Don't let her get to you. Your pup is adorable!!

Some people are just born without a filter and whatever is in their head comes out their mouth. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but they are not always entitled to share that opinion. Having said that, if we had to keep our opinions to ourselves all the time it could get very quiet here on DK. :>)  In my opinion, I think Amante is gorgeous and that lady was what we would call a dog's mother.

Lol lol it actually sounds hilarious! My husband always has strangers make comments to him over evereything, it cracks me up. People just don't understand that you can be educated when selecting a doodle breeder, it's just their ignorance.

Thank You Everyone!! I knew that this was the right place  to vent about it.

When you love the dog you have it doesn't matter what he or she is or where they came from. What matters is that they have your heart    and Mind your OWN business!

This is actually very funny.  That is why I almost always respond first with - poodle mix.  I go further only if it seems appropriate.  Actually I fell in love with a cockapoo stray we found about 30 years ago and think that is what prepped me for falling so hard for doodles.

I'm beginning to wonder how many people will tell me I'm stupid if I think my dog is a Chowdoodle. Do a Google search on Chowdoodle and ya get nothing of interest. Hmm, well, the unedumacated peeps would probably think only Chows have black tongues, so maybe I won't have to stand up for my man ... err, growing boy.
