http://www.doodlekisses.com/video/charlie Today at our shop around 10:45-ish someone dropped off a (poodle, bichon, maltese?) dog. After his groom we called his owner, no answer. We called several times after that but still, no answer. We close at 7:00 so we waited and waited and waited until 7:30, but his owner never came for him. My dad printed out a map from mapquest of the adress the owner gave us then came home. We went in search of his owner. He said the house was house #12 the problem was that that street was only odd #'s (5,7,9 ect).

So we asked some other people that seemed like they weren't sleeping yet. None of them ever heard of him. So after a while we gave up for the night. We are planning on bringing him too our shop tommorow to see if his owner comes back.

Anyways, his (supposed) name is Charlie (we aren't sure because on the info card the owner gave us it says his name is Sul Charlie, he is very loving, young (2 at the very most, he has very white teeth), he is fluffy, unfixed, has a pretty bad ear infection in both ears, he is a sweet heart. Who knows maybe he is a something-doodle. If his owner dosen't come tomorrow I hope we can keep him. Here is a video I just took of him.

The video may not show up when you click the link but it it one of the newest videos. The video is called Charlie.

UPDATE:

My dad gave Charlie away. :( :( :(  He gve him to one of the reseptonists at the optometrist next to our shop. She already has a dog just like him. They are going to give him to her later today. I am feeling so sad. My mom and dad say we dont have any time for him, but I would have loved to take care of him. He could have been my resposibility. The lady said that if it dosen't work out she will bring him back. I hope it dosen't work out, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to keep him.

That is a terrible thing to do. Perhaps this dog was stolen? Peoples behaviour defies belief.  I am sure while you are waiting to find out if he is someones pet or where he comes from you will give him all the love and care he needs.  What will you do about his ears?
If his owner dosen't come tommorow we will probably have to take him to the vet. THe info the "owner" gave us was written sloppily and very quickly. It seemed like the guy cared he even said to be sure to pluck his ear hair before he left.
If you do have to take the poor thing to the vet - make sure that they scan for a chip.  Perhaps this dog was lost or stolen at some point and there might be an owner thrilled to get him back.  If not - perhaps the person was too ashamed to admit he couldn't care for the dog and realized that be abandoning him with you guys that he'd be safe.  Not very nice but better than dumping off on the side of a road.  It is very nice of you to take good care of him!
Ya we were thinking of scanning him. I want to keep him but my mom dosen't. :(

It's also possible something happened to the owner (ie: illness) that prevented him from coming back.  It would be unusual,to say the least, for someone who had stolen a dog to come in with the knowledge to ask for his ears to be plucked.

If he wrote hastily is it possible the phone number was incorrect?

As another thought, and I assume you ask for proof of rabies before you groom., maybe it would be possible to call your local animal control and see if the rabies number is registered to a local license.  I know in our state we have three days after vaccination to license our pets and the # is logged.  Maybe it would be possible to get the owner's address that way.

It's obvious from your video this was/is a much loved dog by someone.  I'm so glad you're caring for him until this mystery is solved :)

I agree about the rabies number-it worked for us when a dog showed up on our lawn with that tag and nothing else.

We found the owner.

He wrote the phone number messy but still readable. We do not ask for rabies because there hasen't been a case of rabies here in a long time.
Wow-that's sad-I hope he is microchipped-maybe some posters looking for the owner??? Your family is great for taking care of him!!
He sure is a sweetheart!
sad, but with out knowing what is going on with the owner I"m just thankful he ended up with a doodle lover.  : )
What monster would bring a dog to the groomers and not pick them up?  It doesn't sound like this is the case.  The person cared enough to bring the dog to the groomer, and knew enough to pluck the ears.  Maybe something happened to the owner on the way to wherever the owner was going.  That is my worst nightmare, getting in an accident while my Allie is at daycare / or the Groomer and not being able to get her.  Sometimes Mapquest and my GPS do not do addresses very well.  My GPS was close to a mile off once.  Usually (when searching for a restaurant) the GPS is at least 2 blocks off.  I'm sure there is an answer to this.  Hopefully they are ok.
well said.  He looks to be well fed and the original poster didn't mention him being in deplorable condition.  I think as dog lovers we sometimes forget to be human lovers first (at least to give the benefit of the doubt) :)
