OK - Bexter has had a rough week with chewing.  I realize that he is teething (he is 4 months old)...But it is driving me crazy now!  He would rather NOT chew on his bones.  He eats his plush toys - yes, EATS his toys now.  The snuggle puppy which was his best buddy forever is now earless.  He has torn off his toy bunny's ear and eaten it.  He has chewed a hole in my son's PJ's, my curtains, a hole in our office chair, and now a Colt's blanket (a BIG no no).  UGH!  I read Sandy's post about the frozen washcloth.  I guess I should give that a try now.  I know to tie it in knots first.  He also has antlers & bully sticks.  Any other suggestions?  I feel like I can't even give him most of his toys now or he will eat them & I am scared to death of him getting a blockage in his intestines, not to mention the damage around the house.  (He also eats sticks from outside & just about anything else he can get his mouth on at this point, but seems like he prefers cloth.  Thanks for any advice!

Teddy does this too! Up until 7 months he was pretty good, but at the 7 month mark he became "destructor"! Teddy chewed up every single plush toy he had. He chewed up two dog beds and chewed holes in four blankets. Luckily, he has never eaten what he chewed. He spits it out, leaving a trail of fluff and fabric. Teddy has chewed up rope toys and tennis balls. He's destroyed a Kong stick and a rubber Kong chew toy. Right now Teddy has exactly 3 toys. One Kong ball, an antler and a Nylabone. He is not allowed to even be near blankets anymore. I've stopped buying him toys. He has tennis balls and a stuffed ball for playing fetch only. When outside, I say "leave it" if he tries to pick up bark (his favorite!) or anything else while walking. My only advice would be STOP buying toys now! Just don't waste your money. I kept searching for plush toys, then plastic toys and balls he wouldn't destroy and it didn't work. Stick to antlers and Nylabones once he destroys all his remaining toys. If he has any other special plush toys that you want to save I would take them away now.
Stuffies do not last but a very few minutes at my house!  In fact, my living room looks like a very active archeology dig and Wilson is still looking for that T-Rex!!

UPDATE - We have been letting Bexter stay loose for the last 2 weeks when we go to bed.  We gate our bedroom door & he is in our bedroom with us where he can roam from our bedroom & our bathroom.  He was doing perfectly until last night!  I should have known!!!!  He chewed through my cell phone charger cord!  So...now this is not only very annoying and getting expensive, it is very dangerous!  I'm so glad he didn't electrocute himself!  Now, he will be in the crate at night again until this phase passes...UGH!  Tomorrow, I am going to buy him more chew stuff!  (Although there was an antler sitting right on the floor & he passed it up for the charger cord... )  Linda - You are scaring me that your 18 month old is still a chewer!  When will the madness end?  I joke with my DH & tell him I'm gonna buy Bexter a muzzle!

KoKo is 11 months now and still destroying everything.  No more stuffed anything.  She has a Nylabone and antlers and tennis balls (until she removes all the yellow fuzz).  Poor Maggie (the good doodle) looses out because of her sister.  KoKo just passed another sock yesterday and I thought I was being so careful not leaving socks where she could get them.  She will eat anything including the wallpaper off my dining room wall.  She is crated at night and whenever I leave my house.  Right now she has one good thing going for her - she's cute and lovable.

too funny...yes it is good that they are cute sometimes.
