Bare with me if this has been a discussion in the past!!
I am going to the pet store later to pick up some new treats/bones for Riley. If I purchase the harder ones, I will most likely wait another week to try and give them to her until she is 8 weeks.
I bought these little soft training treats : Nature's Recipe (suggested by a trainer at PetsSmart). Riley does not seem to like them and wont eat them. I really want to find something that she reeeeallllly loves to get her more ready for potty training.
What all does your doodles love and go crazy for???
Also looking for suggestions for chewing!!
Thankyou : )
Can a puppy of 7 weeks have peanut butter already?

I didn't really use treats for Stella's potty training, just lots of praise and consistency in taking her out often. For training treats I used soft treats from Zeke's or Solid Gold, you can pinch or cut off little tiny bits. Also the freeze dried patties from "Stella and Chewy" are good for training, just pinch little crumbs from them. All you need is a tiny taste. I also found these liver chips from Dr. Becker, they are crispy and Stella looooves them.
As for chews I had success with Bully sticks, Yak chews, marrow bones from the butcher and deer antlers (I get ones sawed lengthwise to revel more marrow) Try to stay away from rawhide, it is not very digestible.
I think a little peanut butter would be fine.
Zoey LOVES these!!!
Rua loves freeze dried liver treats...so I use those for training, as well as other wheat-free treats...I cut them up into small pea-size pieces. I didn't use treat for potty training either. For chewing, I had three Petstages products. One of them I would soak in water and freeze (called Cool Teething Stick). I also mixed non-fat yogurt and organic peanut butter (no salt or sugar...the kind you have to stir) together and would stuff mini-kongs and freeze them.
I let Rua have a bully stick now, but I didn't until recently. On Friday nights, my DH and I have date night at home...grilled steak, asparagus, red wine and watch a movie. Rua gets a bully stick on a beach towel in front of the TV which we eat and watch our movie! That's the only time she gets one.
I bought some freeze dried hot dogs for training treats. Apparently freeze drying them doesn't alter their taste because Echo goes N U T Z for them. Brand is: Bravo.

I didn't like getting my fingers greasy with fresh hot dogs.
