We ended up back in the Emergency Vet Hospital last night, Jack spiked a very high fever and as a result from licking his sore penis so much it got suck out of the sheath and was swollen and very sore.
We spent the night there. He was given fluids, medications and he had a quick ultra sound, The ER doctor said she didn't know really how to read it so she didn't want to scare me but she felt like he needed to be seen the specialist right away.. They wanted me to leave him there. Hell could freeze over and I still would not leave my dog sick, hurting and scared without me.
He went back to the treatment room several times but each time they brought him back to me.. I actually laid down on something that was long and had a cushion in some room, I am not sure what it was but that is where Jack and I stayed till he was well enough to come back home with me.
Unfortunately the kidney doctor is on vacation until Monday. Uncanny, just like for me, they stopped all his medications so that they can get a good culture on him, He needs to be off all antibiotics for one week which would bring us to Next Thursday for the culture..
They do not feel he can wait that long to be seen, since they think he may need a biopsy of his kidney and since he is not eating, playing or doing anything other then laying in my lap. They are going to consult the specialist when she comes in on Monday and most likely we will go then.
I told them I would bring him anywhere to any state right now but they said it is very hard to get in with a specialist and that the only way you can be seen immediately is if Jack was dying or critical, Thankfully he is not either one of those things....
It breaks my heart to see him not feel good. To not eat, to lay on me or hide in the corner, He is even hiding under my bed...I have home cooked him just about every one of his favorite foods, I tried their Science Diet Crap, his regular food, his favorite canned food, any type of canned food, his favorite treats, he just snubs his nose at it and walks away....
When ever Jack is sick, I always think of the mom's of this world who watch their children suffer on a daily bases, I have a friend who's daughter is now 6, diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at 5 and I see the daily struggle she goes through and i wonder how she does it...I have no concept what it is like to have a child. I have Jack, he is my child but I don't know that the bonds are the same. He is love to me, love is love. He is the most faithful and most true thing apart from God that exists in my world and to watch him not feel good and be helpless just about makes me want to go insane....
I know one day at a time, we will get through this. We will fix this, We will get it worked out. I am so grateful we are finally headed down the road to see a specialist....and I am most grateful for insurance so that he can have what ever he needs without cost being a factor... So far, this has been extremely expensive and we have not had the biopsy, the full ultrasound or the full work up much less started treatment really.... So today while my heart is sad Jack D is sick, I will count my blessings that at least we have a plan to figure things out, the means to pay for what he needs and all the love.prayers and hope in the world to get him better.
If anyone has any food ideas that would be super.... I have tried the common things like chicken, beef, canned foods etc...

I am so sorry to hear that Jack is so ill. JD & I are keeping paws and fingers crossed that he will soon feel better and you will get some answers.
Regarding food, try scrambled eggs if you haven't already. Lots of nutritional punch in a small easy to-digest package.
Oh my. I'm so sorry to hear this about baby Jack. It's truly a shame you have to wait a bit longer, I know you have been trying to get on top of this for some time. I'll be thinking about you and waiting for your good news updates.
As for food, how about salmon? The stinky smell might entice him? Cooked eggs?
