I honestly do other things besides post on DoodleKisses. Today, we went to training classes for both dogs and I am going to the movies in an hour with my daughter. On the way to class, I was thinking of things we could do tonight if we actually lose our power. Feel free to add any other ideas. Hopefully, people print this out and memorize prior to losing their power and have some things to do in the next few days if they get caught in the dark.

1)  Give each other haircuts just for laughs and when the lights come back on, take pictures of the results for the annual Holiday card!

2) Play Hand games by candlelight. (Keep it clean, people)

3) Eat M&M's

4) Drink Wine, Not Coffee!!

5) Light a candle and work on some Dog training. Try a new command like, "Fetch!"

6) Make up silly games. For example: What is one of the dumbest tattoos you could imagine?

7) Get the duct tape out of the emergency kit and play Project Runway.

8) Or take it one step further....

9) Include your dogs in all the fun, so they do not feel stressed!

10) If you are starting to get cabin fever and posting goofy stuff on DK, lie down and take a cat nap.

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot.....if all else fails, get romantic!

But, not too romantic:

I love #4 but #6's photo - super gross!!!!!!!!!!    We had an outage of only a couple hours a few nights back - yikes - drove me nuts.

I just took a shower, never know when the opportunity will come again if the natural gas powered backup generator goes out too. Did some laundry, same reasoning re: when can I do it again. Then I sweated up a storm bringing in more plants and furniture etc. then I thought I  had. I guess I should have done this before the shower. Not that it's hot, the humidity is unreal.

Here's a way to relieve stress.

OK, I feel better now.

F. We had exactly the same morning. I think I will add the stress reliever now!
HA HA!!
F, We are just getting rain so far. I hate the winds most of all because we are surrounded by trees. My SIL lives in Wilmington, NC and they lost power, but it is already back on. Hope you do not lose power at all. Good luck! Love the picture. That is exactly how I feel when we have no water or electricity.
We too are just getting rain as of now. Same thing with wind and trees. Stay safe!
As Hurricane Irene prepares to batter the East Coast, federal disaster officials warn that Internet outages could force people to interact with other people for the first time in years. Residents are bracing themselves for the horror of awkward silences and unwanted eye contact. FEMA advises: “Be prepared. Write down possible topics to talk about in advance. Broadway shows, dining out...the weather. Remember, a conversation is basically a series of Facebook updates strung together.

I saw this on facebook and thought it was cute... sadly, I think it is true..

I had to copy and paste this to my FB status...so funny
I had to re-post this too - OMG - that is too funny!!!!!
Now THAT'S funny.  True and sad, but funny!
I just heard this read on our local TV station. Funny!
that is so hilarious!!!!! Unfortunately, it's probably true for many people...but still, very funny.
