We had torrential rain all night and now it's merely raining. The electricity just wavered but remained on. No trees down although I heard things hitting the roof. The basement has a couple of inches of water. They say the rivers will crest and flood in the coming days. The reverse 911 warned us to stay off town roads which are flooded. It could have been much worse here and I hope everyone fared as well.

My biggest fear was getting the dogs out but Luca decided that about 5:30 pm last night was enough til 10:30 today. Then he was carrying on around the shed where the woodchucks live. Could they have climbed up inside or on the vines? I'm sure the burrow is flooded and he was barking towards the roof of the shed. I had to "lasso" him and bring him in. I was afraid he could get into the brook if the fence was weakened.

The brook behind my house is a raging torrent with white water. In places the yard slants, thankfully, toward the brook and I felt water running through my crocs. Let us know how you are when you can.

That is a lot of water! Pretty photos though... :-)
Wow, that's a lot of water.  Has it gone down at all yet?
Maybe a few feet...but there's a long way to go before we can drive through it.
Has anyone heard from the Long Island Doodlers? Shelly comes to mind but there are many others. Forgive me OTHERS, as I am checking in from phone.
Still, have they been on?
Carol and Banjo?
I hope you all did well during the storm. We lost power Saturday about 1:30/2:00 am, so technically Sunday. Finally got it back on! Luckily my home was fine but my neighborhood had a lot of down trees and wires. Glad it is over and all are safe and sound.

So happy to hear everyone is okay.  I have never had to deal with a hurricane but am all to familiar with flooding, power outages and wind damage.  The last time we had tree branches down Lexi was trying to teach Clover and Apollo to pick up sticks and put them in a pile.  Did it work?  Oh yeah, they both would take all the sticks Lexi put in a pile and scatter them around the yard.  Hopefully life gets back to normal soon for everyone.  Try to keep your sanity!

LOL!! Tina I can just imagine this seen!! Such helpers!
After 2 &1/2 days the power is back!!!! We had crews from Michigan and Iowa here tonight. I tried to give them some money to buy a cold drink or something and they refused. "Just doing our job, Ma'am." This country may have problems but people do pull together when need be. Meanwhile people are still being evacuated ahead of surging rivers.
I have been watching the coverage on the news and it looks like a lot of places got hit pretty hard.
There are parts of NJ, Connecticut, and NY that are very hard hit. Vermont is truly devastated.
Glad to hear your power is back on.
