Wondering if anyone has any advice about car sickness??? Parker starts foaming at the mouth as soon as he gets in the car (as you can see in this photo from today)! He loves going in the car because he knows it takes him to fun things...even when we are just taking a walk outside he will pull me to go by the car because he wants to get in...yet when he DOES get to go in the car...he foams at the mouth, drools uncontrollably and then barfs whatever food he has eaten that day! (Sometimes he doesn't throw up but there is no formula for when he does and doesn't). We blast the a/c in his face so he doesn't get hot and this still doesn't do anything! His vet suggested giving him benadryl before we know we are going in the car...I have a couple of times now but it doesn't seem to change anything...I gave it to him today and he still threw up and drooled until the backseat was soaked! When he is tired on the way home (usually after he's thrown up everything in his stomach anyway) he's fine but I don't know! I am not going to fit in the back with him much longer! He already takes up most of the seat and pushes me with his paws to stretch out! He has a seatbelt but still wont sit still unless I am sitting with him....

haha like human gingersnap cookies??? His daddy eats those so we have them around the house! I'm sure he won't mind eating cookies! I hope he does grow out of it because he is just getting too big to be babying and he needs to be more independent so I can take him places without being stressed every time he gets in the car!

Yep.  Human gingersnaps.  I know it sounds kind of weird but I take ginger capsules before I fly to help with air sickness so I guess it makes sense.

I know how you feel about being stressed every time he gets in the car.  You want to socialize, socialize, socialize but then you just have to clean up, clean up, clean up.

Hopefully he will grow out of it soon.

Oh Katie I SO relate to this!!  Bo has been a carsick pup from day one.  It is so bad that when he hears my car keys he begins to salivate and drool before we are even in the car!! He's like a St. Bernard with the drool!! I have tried EVERYTHING to no avail.  The drooling is so excessive that his hammock has a stream running down the middle.  Short rides, long rides, it doesn't matter.  He can be soaking wet with just the 2 miles drive to his favorite pet store where he gets a special treat each time we go.

I too have a clean up kit and am 'at the ready' for vomiting too.  It's frustrating but I know he can't help it.  I will try the ginger snap cookies and see if that doesn't settle his tummy.  Lord knows I've tried everything else.......
