[Dori & Rua]

Fall is here....or should I say football season!  My DH is a big-time Vikings fan.  Last year, in preparation for deerhunting, he was watching a Vikings game...with Rua!  I realized right then and there, Rua had to have a Vikings Cheerleader outfit.

 

 

I did a search last year on-line and in stores, but I couldn't find anything.  So, I decided I would wait until the next season and make her one (she wouldn't outgrow it then).

 

So, here is the the outfit:

 

I used gabardine, wide gold ribbon and a smaller purple ribbon and a strip of fleece that had various Viking Football symbols!

 

Here is Rua modeling her new cheerleader outfit!

 

And finally, Rua and Papa, ready for an afternoon Minnesota Vikings Football game!

I am in awe of your sewing and pattern making prowess.  I can only hand sew though I did make Riley a lovely bandana which I am quite proud of.    I really would love to learn to use a sewing machine for starters... maybe this Winter alongside learning Bridge...

Thank your Nicky.  I started sewing when I was 12...I could make men's tailored shirts, lined jackets, you name it.  Haven't sewed for MANY years...enjoying making Rua dresses.  I have been tinkering with collars & leashes but have to revise my strategy.  The materials I bought are too thick to work with the "hardware".  My goal is to blog on www.lifewithrua.com (which I have started), sell collars/leashes/agility equipment on www.kangarua.com (I have hosted, but not up and running).  I also bought the domain name www.bellarua.com because I loved the name but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it...know I know...I'll sell clothing!

Those are really cute!  But Halas is a boy and prefers to be naked, so he won't be wearing one of these.  But we're definitely football fans here -  Halas is named after George "Papa Bear" Halas, the founder of the Chicago Bears.
