How many doodles on DK?

Anyone ever curious about how many DK Doodles there are? I was just looking at the number of members, 8,281 and thinking that could easily mean over 10,000 doodles! WOW! So many of us have at least 2, that could be well over 10k, just mind boggling I think.

Just a random thought everyone, no real point to the story.

Laurie, you do know how to paste your dogs into pictures tho. How do you do that? I have one picture that just begs for Bella's head to be in it!!

Sue, Here is how I do it...I make my photographer daughter do it for me. This is the one skill I want to perfect this year and I actually got Photoshop for just this purpose. I even asked the guy at the Apple Store....does this allow me to put a head on some other body. I did manage to download it, but that is as far as I got. I wonder if my assistant could do it for you if you emailed me the photos. She grumbles a lot...I will ask.

That could be well over 10,000 doodles. We are one of the members that only has one lovely, loving, precious doodle <3 <3 <3

Just for the heck of it this afternoon I did a random search of members.  Then I started going through member pages to get a sense for "how many Doodles".  It was purely unscientific with a non-credible sample size, but here's what I noticed.  Only about 10% have more than one Doodle.  Many people join and post once or twice and never post again....or if they do, rarely.  It's interesting that so many people took the time to set up their page, but then they just "disappeared".  Are they "lurkers" or did they just decide we were all "nuts" and went away.  I was hard-pressed to find the "regulars" in this random review of the membership....I'm guessing we're the minority...in more ways than one.  So, bottom line based on this I'm guessing there are about 9200 - 9300 Doodles on DK.  But, if people joined and then got another Doodle without posting this as an update, that could bring us up to 10,000 Doodles...and I like that number better.  So, this probably tells you something about me.  While others were having a good time with this whole question, I was obsessed and building a spreadsheet.  No wonder Guinness is such a Nerd.

Jane, I think this makes you a curious person with initiative to find answers.  Your survey was interesting as I guess this question brought up the subject of how many of the 8000+  members are actually active or even have doodles. I hadn't really given that a thought before. I feel there are a lot of lurkers, as I know I was for quite some time before I finally responded.
