BRADY - 3 DAYS AND NO FOOD

In the last few days I have found 2 puppy teeth on the floor!   I guess Brady has swallowed any others that have fallen out.   I actually felt better after finding them, as it may be a good clue as to why he isn't eating his kibble.   All else is fine, - he's playful, thirsty and movements seem to be good.   I am WORRIED THAT FEELING SO BADLY FOR HIM I CAVED AND BOUGHT HIM CANNED DOG FOOD!    HE  gulped it down in seconds flat!    Later in the day he finished off the can mixed with some of his softened kibble.    After refusing his plain kibble again today, I went out and bought him another few cans of moist food!   I am feeding him this food  in a diff. dish than normally and in a different location....hoping when his gums heal up he'll go back to the dry kibble.   Any advice?

None except both of mine survived without going to canned: ) I suspect you'll have to wean him off.

Ya, maybe do a mix of the dry and wet...and just use less and less wet. I know the feeling...there have been times where I was so desperate for Lola to eat that I'd giver her absolutely anything!!! Just ween, and maybe mix the dry food with some water (or broth, if you really want to spoil him!!) to soften it up for a bit.

This morning I tried to mix his dry kibble with broth to soften it up.   He let it sit almost all day.  Then I gave him canned food and he gobbled it up!!   I will in the next few days, soften  the kibble up with broth and as you said  gradually lessen the amount of canned meat I mix with it.   Thanks for the advice.

Riley went off his food a couple of weeks ago and it did actually coincide  with teething.  I just  added some plain yoghurt to his kibble and mixed it in and he wolfed it down.  I would feed chicken and rice if all else failed.

just soften his food until his gums feel better... you can just add water or chicken broth to kibble to make it mushy.

I found several of Brenna's teeth,  a couple she was chewing. She is loving chewing on the Nylabone. She hasn't been off her feed at all. Eating her kibble just fine.

Boy, does he have you fooled!  They have other teeth and can eat, but if you are concerned about the kibble being too hard, add a bit of water and soften it up.

I have a bunch of Roseys teeth but only a couple of Bandits...  But anyhoo you can just soak his kibble to make it softer and warm in the micro for a few secs!

I went through that when Trix was loosing her teeth.  I was adding water to her kibble, which only slightly helped.  Then I tried putting her kibble in a treat dispenser...turns out the dry kibble wasn't really the problem since she ate it all right then and there. To this day she still eats her entire days worth of kibble from dispensing toys.  She loves working and searching for food!  I have very little experience with puppies, but just thought I would mention this in case it's something you want to try.  Good luck!

Try softening his dry food with a couple tablespoons of water.  When Luna was teething she pretty much refused to eat unless it was soft - it was cleared with the vet, who said just to not add anything with calories as that would mess with her recommended daily food intake.

I know how you feel.  Bailey lost 6 teeth in 3 days...all her big front canines and 2 back molars.  She had no prob eating her kibble...

Apparently I am a meany!! I figured when he was really hungry he would eat!! I didn't want to change anything about his diet since he was doing so well. I did give him a frozen carrot that he made a BIG MESS with!!
