My puppy is humping my cat!!

So...  I am home from work on this friday afternoon..trying to relax. My puppy Riley and my cat George are wrestling as usual. Let me first mention that they "play" rough. A little too rough in my opinion. I glance over and I notice Riley humping George!!! This was about 20 minutes ago.... she has been humping him every 5 minutes since! What is going on!? Have you ever heard of a puppy humping a cat?

 

And I thought she was too young for this... only 13 weeks.. What do i do?

I don't know the answer but it does create a funny vision in my head!  At that age it is probably just a dominance thing and I'm sure kitty will set her straight when she's had enough!

hah yes... it is quite funny! At this point she enjoys playing more with cats and dogs because she lives with another cat. Although... She already rules over George and so my bf or I always end up having to break them up to help George out!

I am giggling a the image. At that age Sophie Bear used to hump this big pink stuffed bone of hers. It was hilarious and I took a video. I think you just need to distract her. :o)

That sounds really funny!! It's definitely a fight over dominance. Lola and my parents' dog hump each other ALL the time...non-stop!! Lola humps our friend's much bigger Weimaraner (male) all the time too. They'll hump anything, really :)

ROFL! Sorry ... laughed out loud when I saw the title! Lachlan did that to Pixel a couple of times. Pixel soon sorted him out. Perfectly normal puppy-play, I think.*

My girl frenchies switch off humping each other,  and my littlest one (17#) tries to hump my arm in the morning if I am not waking up quick enough! Fortunately Zach has not yet discovered the wonders of this behavior!

Amanda, Bruin has been humping his bed pillow and snuggle puppy since we brought him home.  You just need to distract her. I don't think it's a dominance thing, I think they are just excited.  Why would Bruin want to dominate his bed pillow?  I guess they are never too young!  (thanks for the laugh)
