For anyone who would like to join us in an October project on learning photo editing. Amazon is offering PhotoShop Elements 9 for $59 now, after a rebate.

Many of us have PSE9 and this will be the standard editor but abyone can join the ?fun no matter how you edit. But if you want tips and how to advice etc. this will be the way to go, I think. Not enough people have Macs, and I for one refuse another learning curve, so Aperture, Which Mike and Ann use will be not as useful unless you just want to show off edits : ) An new version of PSE will be out in a few days but from what I understand it will have few major changes. Still you may want to go that route. I'm still thinking of how to best go about this so any input is appreciated.

Please do . I think CS5 should let you cover just about everything if not more than we can.
Cool, that happens to be my new program.
Great.
F, how is this going to work?  Are we going to focus on one particular Photoshop tool at a time or do we all just use this discussion to share "before" and "after" editing explaining the process we used for the changes?  It may be more organized if we had a separate discussion for each major category.  Like maybe there's a "lesson" on the clone tool (one of my favorites) with everyone putting up pictures and explaining how they used it to enhance their photo.  Then maybe a separate discussion on layers, again with examples of how layers can be used.  Just my thoughts....I'm good with whatever approach everyone wants to use.  I'm excited about this, because I need to start forcing myself to use more than just the basic Photoshop tools.
I'm not sure how best to go about it. That's why I am happy to get ideas like yours for a little while before we start. Also, we probably can iron out kinks along the way. Aside from Linda, who I'm sure has her hands full with her new business, does anyone know someone with some expertise who might be willing to volunteer? We could use someone to lead us.  Mike of Ann Kendig fame, is a great teacher but he uses a different program on a MAC.
Jane, I like your idea.
I use CS2 Photoshop. Very similar I understand. I love editing and certainly will be a part of this discussion.
Good.
