My doodles were chewing on ropes and then I said let's go in the car and I they went running to the door. We just got home and Myla flew in the dining room and picked up a piece of the KNOTTED end that Chloe was shredding ( I did not notice she bit it off and I was watching her!) As I tackled Myla to try to get it out of her mouth GULP she swallowed the whole thing! As I was reaching down her throat I felt it go down and now she keeps burping! Is this going to mess with her stomach or do you think it's ok? I wasn't close enough to see HOW big maybe the size of a cookie?? I'm scared as heck to tell DH! Do you think she has to go to the vet? She's running around acting crazy but it just happened less than 10 minutes ago!?

If it just happen you could make her throw up and then you don't need to worry about it. If not that I would watch her carefully for any signs of obstruction, no poops, very thin, runny poops, or explosive vomiting. Any of those are danger signs and she needs to go to the doc immediately!!!!!!!!!
I did try but thanks for letting me know what to watch for!
I would be inclined to try and get her to throw it up!
I tried with my finger any other ideas?
Peroxide, a fresh bottle but I forget the amount. Salt is also supposed to work but the one time I tried it, it didn't work.
I believe the hydrogen peroxide is 10 mls per 10 pounds of weight but I am not positive, I just know that is what I was told to give Jack when he was 10 pounds. Good luck...
oh my I dont know.  I'd guess since its rope, that stomach acids could do a good job on dissolving it?  But maybe it wont have time.   I think call your vet for advice, maybe they would want you to have her throw up?
I guess I better let DH know first-I hate calling him at work!
when Shadow did this exact thing we watched her closely for a couple of days looking for it out the other end but she finally threw it up herself.  Didn't seem like a lot of fun for her throwing that up but at least she got out of her system herself...
We're hoping so!
•Give 3% Hydrogen Peroxide: Give her one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per each 5 to 10 pounds of body weight.
Use a fresh bottle and repeat it a second time if it doesn't work.
Never induce vomiting in a dog in an effort to retrieve a swallowed object. Never induce vomiting in a dog that has ingested corrosive or acidic substances, such as household bleach or drain cleaner. Inducing will inflict additional damage on the lining of the digestive tract and can cause the dog's condition to deteriorate rapidly. Never induce vomiting in a dog if has been more than two hours since the toxic material was ingested. If the dog shows signs of lethargy or seizures, stop what you are doing and go directly to the veterinarian's office. Try to keep the dog awake while your drive.

Husband "couldn't talk withiut yelling at me-calling the vet.
