Lab and what? Guess the breed!

My MIL checks the local humane society pretty often, looking for the right dog. She lost her dogs a few years ago and is ready for another one (or two), or at least was before DH and myself moved in last week with 3 cats and a dog! We are trying to persuade my FIL to let us her get at least one of these babies

Lester and Minnie are sweet 9 week old black Lab mix puppies who were abandoned at the Shelter.

What do you think they are mixed with?

I am going to go out on a limb and guess Schipperke, because they are so fluffy and the darkest black!

I think I see shepherd! This is a pic of a black shepherd puppy. I think he looks a lot like Lester.

So cute!! Because of the waviness in the hair on the ears I'm thinking some sort of spaniel. Maybe a Brittany or Springer.

im assuming they were surrendered by the owners of a black lab female, thats where they get that part from.

I would if I could.... so far the men in the house are saying no. My FIL did promise my MIL she could get 2 puppies - but that was before we moved in!
