Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Please don't judge when you read this and know that it is killing me to do it...but I am looking for a new home for my Grayson.
Tuesday my husband informed me that he was leaving me and our three children. He has started work two hours away from home (we were trying to sell our house and join him)...he had met someone in the meantime. He wanted me and the kids to stay here and he was going to go start his new life...
Well, I don't trust him and am afraid to have even more ripped form me, so I am leaving the house. I am getting a trailer on my mom and stepdad's property.
Right now we live on 7 acres in the country---they live in town and live above their business (a funeral home) and we will be right next door.
The trailer will hardly be big enough for me and my three kids---it doesn't seem fair to keep him.
I have a good friend in a homeschooling group and she is trying to find a place through them...they are a great group of people and most are int eh area so I could still see him...if not I will try the DRC.

This is so sad, especially for young boys. Your husband will certainly have lost more than he bargained for, especially when he realizes nothing or no one is as important in life as family. You have very good reasons to rehome Grayson and I totally understand. You are in survival mode and Grayson is not necessary for your survival at this time. He will be fine with new owners as he has had a great beginning with you and your children. Hopefully he will be near enough to visit him if you wish.
Good luck to you and I bet someday you will actually thank him for getting out of your lives, as someone who could do this is not the person I would want to teach my children about life or morals.
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for reaching out to us. I sent a reply earlier to you but my message seemed to have gotten lost somewhere on the doodlekisses website. I mentioned that I'm really sorry to hear about your situation and know that some men can be real as..h... sometimes (and this is coming from a man). It sounds like Grayson is a great dog. We recently homed our dog Murphy from a family in Florida and although he is a little bigger than we originally wanted we are super happy with him. We know he misses his companion dog in Florida and want to get a companion for him. From what I read it seems like Grayson might be a little larger than we can handle but my wife and I would like to know a little more anyway. If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me how much Grayson weighs, whether he gets along with other dogs, barks a lot, has he learned to walk on a leash and what happened to his leg several months ago? Thanks. Larry.I think we need to form a mob and punch this jerk in the nose!
I >>>>KNOW it doesn't seem like it now, Amanda but, life will get better because you will make it better!
We all wish you and the boys didn't have to go through this.
I saw the photos of your boys on your page. They are so cute!
Oh Amanda...
I'm so very sad and sorry that you and your children are going through this!!
I know how difficult your decision about Grayson must be...and it's not something that you're taking lightly...at all.
Like all of your other family here at DK...I only have love and support for you and your children...and only wish that there was more that I could do to help you!
What I can do is to keep all of you in my prayers...give input to questions that you might have...and continue to support you throughout this time and beyond.
Praying for Peace...and Sending Great Big Hugs...
Amanda, just wanted to let you know we are still thinking of you and hoping that you are taking it one day at a time. PLease let us know if you find a home for Grayson and please stay in touch if time and life allows. Best to you.
PS....life has a way of paying back bad Karma, just go with that.
I know when we were placing Sundance, we were on pins and needles finding just the right place for him. I will be sending good thoughts your way that these people will be right for Grayson. If they are not, the right family will come along. Sooner rather than later would be nice.
I know we thought we had Sundance happily placed with neighbors - all seemed perfect until he lifted his leg in their home (not only did I warn them he was not fully housebroken, they let him off leash immediately) and they decided they didn't want him. They are a wonderful family, but obviously it wasn't the right place, so.... we did end up with the perfect, perfect home for him.
