Lab and what? Guess the breed!

My MIL checks the local humane society pretty often, looking for the right dog. She lost her dogs a few years ago and is ready for another one (or two), or at least was before DH and myself moved in last week with 3 cats and a dog! We are trying to persuade my FIL to let us her get at least one of these babies

Lester and Minnie are sweet 9 week old black Lab mix puppies who were abandoned at the Shelter.

What do you think they are mixed with?

Maybe Golden Retriever (from the coat and head/ear shape), which would make them Goldadors! I also thought Chow because they're pretty stocky and it looks like their tails go up. They sure look like they're full of personality.

I was thining maybe chow too. but could also be shephard... or both....

I was thinking chow also...wonder if they have any black spots on their tongues...chows have black tongues.  I hope she gets them :)

I think Schipperke, perhaps pom (tiny pom like paws). Shepard, husky, cocker (the tail).

I'm amazed someone else besides me thinks Schipperke, but that's honestly the first thing I thought when I saw them!

Cuteness!  FYI - virtually every single dog listed at our local humane society is classified as a "lab mix."  Lol.  I think it makes them more "approachable."

I think their paws are too small to be a newfie mix :p  they would be in the "dinnerplate" size category.

thats true, I was just looking at the face shape. Paws are pretty small. Hoping to go see them today - see what size they are and compare them to Cooper. She was 17lb at 10 weeks and is not 60lbs at full grown

looking at schiperke at wikipedia, it says

Puppies are born with tails in different lengths and, in Canada and the United States, the tail is usually docked the day after birth.

 

Minnie does have a funny looking tail....
