Here are some photos of Gracie Doodle freshly groomed. She is a wavy fleece Goldendoodle. I used a 1" comb attachment on my Andis clippers using a #10 blade (I have since ordered a #40 upon recommendation). I went with the direction of her growth so that would actually leave her coat about 1 1/2" long. Under her ears, under her chin and around her neck I used the 1/2" and 1/4" comb attachments. Her head and face are all scissor cut and fine tuned with thinning/blending shears. I used scissors for the first time down her legs and I always round her feet with curved shears. I never cut her tail!!! The one thing that I do differently than what is usually recommended is that I never blow dry Gracie. I just let her air dry and then brush and comb every square inch of her body before grooming. She is a Tom Boy and doesn't lend herself to the puffy blown out look nor would it last long on her since she is always wet!! Plus, she is a big girl and wouldn't stand for the time it would take to blow her dry!!! I have been doing my own grooming for 2 years but this time I did it by the book! I purchased the book that someone mentioned in this group a few months ago "Grooming Your Doodle" by Elizabeth Meehan. I ordered it through blurb.com. I have quite a few books on grooming but this one is for Doodles only and is wonderful!!! Very explicit.
