Found these online and thought they were a good idea, does anyone use them?

I was just looking at pictures on here and did see something similar on the tags of a doodle, sorry don't remember who's.

I wanted this so we can change colors and such and DH was afraid that they would somehow come off and lose them?

I will wait and see the responses you get.

I was thinking the same thing.  I was wondering how safe they were!
They are a good idea. Sadly I tried this or a similar one twice. They did not hold up and I went searching for tags in the yard. I think when my two do their wars they manged to break these open or just break them. I have my two wear rolled collars all the time and I just put the tag ring onto the collar. You do have to be careful when taking the collar off for baths etc., though. Once I took the dogs to Petco and had to go back to retrieve Calla's tags.
I got one for Camus ~ 3 weeks ago and so far it is great.  It allows you to easily remove it from the collar without having to deal with fighting the standard ring that holds the tags.  It has stayed on through many play times and the color has not chipped (yet). Another plus (to me) is being able to wash the collar without the tags.
Hi.  Cooper has one on in his picture!!  I have been using these for both of our dogs for about 6 months now and have not had any problems with them and acutally love them.  It makes switching the tags between their flat collars and harnesses sooooooo much easier.  I also have one that I keep Cooper's Therapy Dog ID tag on so I can just clip it on his collar when we are doing visits and then unclip it when we are done.  (I originally had another brand that I had gotten at Petsmart but it was an inferior product and the spring clip bent and I spent a hour searching our yard for the tags for both dogs.)  Cooper has played with other dogs while wearing his and we've taken both dogs hiking in the woods off leash many times (where they are running through brush and trees, etc.) and have never had any problems with them coming off.
We have used one for about a year now and we love it. The one issue I do have with it is really cosmetic.  I purchased the hot pink one with the rhinestones and most of the stones fell out in the first two or so months plus the finish dulled quickly.  I did buy it for the convenience of switched her tags from one to collar to another, so I am dealing with that negative.  For the record, it has only come off when I have taken it off so I think it is quite secure.

Thanks everyone for the imput.  I think I will give one a try.  I really like the hot pink one that has rhinestones or they do make a stainless steel one with bling too......After all a girl can never have to much bling ; )

I love it! Bling Bling all the way!
I recently bought the "tagnabit" which is a similiar concept, but it might be a little smaller and it is just plain silver.  During the day when we aren't home, I keep both dogs in break-away collars and then for our walks I put normal collars on them.  The tagnabbit has made swiching between collars a breeze.  http://www.petmate.com/tagnabbit
That's the one I had problems with, breaking and coming undone.

I use one made by Up Country.  Peri's had hers for over a year and it is easy to use and STRONG.  Here's a photo:

Both dogs have been using these for 6+ months.   My dogs play quite a bit with eachother's necks and we've never had a problem with these breaking.      I DID have the smaller silver clasp (don't remember the brand) (like the "tagnabit", but the top piece separated from the bottom piece so won't go back to that one.
