Darwin has been having a blast playing in the backyard this fall. But the other day I noticed he had bright orange stains on all four paws, and one on his hind leg. There are fall leaves and apples on the ground in the backyard, could it be from either of these? I washed him thoroughly and none of the stains came out. Does anyone have any ideas of a safe way to get this out? I was thinking hydrogen peroxide but I wanted to check here first, does that seem safe?

Hi

Camilla,  I don't now if this will be helpful, but not too long ago Camus got blue ink all over his face, paws -- well all over.  And, I asked for help -- this is the link http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/help-i-have-a-blue-dog?com...

I followed the suggestions and I got at least 95% of the ink off his coat.  Good luck with Darwin's coat.  Here is a photo of my "Blue Boy" before treatments:

Oh My Gosh... I remember this!   LOL
Oh, blue Camus!!!
Wow those are pretty orange, I like the one on his doodle thigh area!! Was he sledding down the leaves?
Just popping in to say Darwin cannot take a bad photo. He is so beautiful, stains or not.
I so agree.
Spud has stains year round. Whatever the season brings: green grass stains, orange clay dirt stains, and now an array of Fall colors. I don't know how to get them out. They seem to fade after a few days. It is hard to keep a white dog clean.
I've had good luck with Chris Christensen's White on White shampoo.  It helped diminish mouth stains on Monty.
Thanks everyone! Christine, that is helpful.
Camilla, there is something to say about black dogs.  You NEVER know when they are dirty   :)   I have a black dog but her feet are white too.   HA
I wonder if peroxide would work...maybe just a little on a cotton ball.
I have a Maltese and I used the stuff used to bleach facial hair when he played with a biro and ended up with ink all over him that I couldn't get out with shampoo, it's called Jolen here but I'm sure you have something similar.  It has Hydrogen Peroxide in it and it worked fine.
