Sully is now a year and a half and the last 2 weeks, he has completely reverted to his 7 mo old self! He is leaping at us and nipping, stealing things off the counter, digging in the yard, pulling like crazy on his leash during walks and chewing up pillows. These are all behaviors he had when he was 5-7 months. Back then we upped the training and the exercise and it definitely helped. So we are doing that again, but I was really surprised to see these behaviors resurface.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

I'm sorry to hear that Sully has reverted...obviously Buddy is still a puppy and I haven't had this issue yet but I can certainly see how it would happen! BTW, I have found a great dog trainer who is based out of Watsonville - Bingo Dog Training - her name is Cynthia and she has already helped us enormously with Buddy. If you are looking for someone to help she might be a good person to try! I wish I had better advice but at this point Buddy is still so young that he hasn't had time to revert, LOL :)
Buddy is doing great! He got neutered almost two weeks ago so he's super happy to be able to start running, playing and being his sweet puppy self again :) He IS getting big!! I think he's around 25 lbs now, at 5 1/2 months of age, so we'll see if he ends up getting as big as Sully! And the training with Cynthia is helping a lot...though I have the luxury of working from home and spending almost all of my time with him so it's been easy for me to keep up with the training schedule. Hopefully his progress with continue without too many setbacks! We'll have to do another hike one of these days...Buddy had such a great time :)
I'm in the same boat as Lauren, as my doodle is only 8 months old, however, I've been warned by my trainer that this will probably happen. Trix is SO full of energy. She finished both obedience level 1 and 2, but my traininer suggested that her client repeat level 2 every year until a dog is 3 years old, especially if the dog isn't trained on a regular basis (which I am really trying to do!!). Your own advice is great - a refresher is a great idea!
This is the scariest and most discouraging post ever! Owen seems to be improving all of the time. If he reverts to his 5-7 months self we are in deep Kim Chee!
We have noticed this as well with Luna.
She has started jumping up on people a lot more and we think we know why... strangers have begun to pet and/or feed her when she jumps up on them. It's very frustrating, and they wonder why she keeps jumping as they pet her while she's up t here!
