Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi, All- I'm picking out my puppy on 12/3 and I have second pick. I would prefer a male Doodle and there are 5 beautiful puppies, in shades of cream, apricot (with rose noses) and one carmel boy with a black nose. They are all adorable, and I was pretty sure that I wanted a carmel one but am warming to the idea of a cream Doodle. I noticed that as adults, the lighter colored Doodles tend to have discoloration in the beard/muzzle area. Is there a way to preserve the pristine creamy color into adulthood, or would I just be better off with a darker colored doodle?

Tasha, I wouldn't care about the color as much as the personality of your new puppy. I have two Doodles....one Chocolate and one Cream. My cream colored doodle, Vern, is the one that loves to roll in everything. He always looks dirty....LOL!! My chocolate Doodle, Fudge, has changed from a dark chocolate brown to a light silvery brown. I think Doodles are beautiful in all colors, so I would go more for the personality you are looking for.....just my opinion. Can't wait to see pictures. What an exciting time for you. Good luck!

Yes, Laurie, personality is EVERYTHING! I'm probably just over thinking the process because I am so gosh-darned excited! I will post pictures as soon as I pick him out!

I have a very handsome black male goldendoodle who will be 5 mos old on 12/3.  However, I do love the caramel colored with the black noses, and the creams and the whites and the grays....!!! They are all beautiful and no matter what color you get, they are the best pups ever.  Good luck, I know exactly how excited you are!  I had four boys to choose from and I chose the one that PICKED ME!!!!  Keep us posted, looking forward to pics ~ good luck :o)

Doodles are definitely beautiful in ALL colors! I think I'm just going to be in love with all of them. Bruin sure is a handsome, regal fella!

so excited for you.. I agree with Laurie..go for personality first. Lilly is creamish at almost 6 months. I give her bottled water and she does not have a problem with discoloration, but she is a little darker around the mouth anyway..

I prefer boy dogs to girl dogs...and actually, boy cats to girl cats.  So I guess I'm biased toward the boys!  But a good dog is a good dog, regardless of sex or color.  I'm sure you have a great breeder, with dogs who have a great temperament...so you are going to be fine.  It's hard to feel this way when you are in the process, but I'm pretty sure you are going to love your puppy no matter what!  I hope you'll keep us updated about your choices!  What fun!!!

I finally got my Caramel Doodle! You guys are right, she could have been purple and I'd be in LOVE!
