Brinkley has a birthday today!

Brinkley turns two today! He's no longer a "puppy" per se. :( He had a fun "pre-birthday" yesterday. We had a very large Thanksgiving with Brandon's family... and there was a 1 1/2 year old Shar pei there. They played for HOURS yesterday-- just ran and ran and tumbles and played (the house was on 3 acres of fenced in yard. Now he's exhausted and it is wonderful. It made us realize how much we wanted a second doodle. Brinkley loves being around other dogs. Once hubs is done with PA school in 2 years, a second Doodle will be the first thing we get.

And there were so many kids and they all loved Brinkley. This was Brinkley's first time around THAT MANY kids. There were 9 kids surrounding him at all times. The kids had just watched the Westminister dog show so they played dog show with Brinkley and Brutis, the Shar Pei... and Brinkley loved every second of it!

Later, hubs and I are going to make him a bone shaped pup cake for his birthday. Happy Birthday Buddy!

Happy Birthday Brinkley! Sounds like you did great with all of those kids! We watched the dog show too and I was teasing Gavin, making him pose and holding his tail out. Maybe I am a big kid too :D

Happy Birthday Brinkley, Daisy was two at the end of October - she really is still a puppy though as far as her play but she is starting to look so much more mature.

Daisy is excited about a couple of other dogs but then after a few hours she starts acting nervous and kind of disappears from the scene, like she's tired of them and wants her "space" back. Yesterday my DD's boxer was here, her bestie, but around 7 she decided she had enough and stayed upstairs while everyone else was in the family room downstairs... when they left around 9 she was back with us like "thank goodness they left". I think we will be staying a one doodle family.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much to change with him. He's a very energetic and playful Doodle and I don't think that will change. He has become more cuddly over the last year though. I've noticed when he's outside he wants to play and play hard but now when he's inside, he'll relax and cuddle.

As far as the second Doodle thing-- Brinkley has never met a dog he doesn't like (a few husky dogs don't really like him though)... and we have to make him stop playing. The doggie daycare owner says Brinkley is the one that makes all the other dogs get up and play and swim when the rest of them want to rest. ha!
