I finally think dh is getting how unhappy that I am.  I haven't seen him for almost 2 weeks now and if I am going to spend this much time without him - this is not where I'd want to be.  Soooo . . . . I think within the year that we might have a chance to move to South Caroline - just east of Columbia - a little town called Camden.  Is there any DKers from that area?  Columbia?  Elgin?  Camden?  Please contact me and let me know where we should be looking.  This would put me back where there are seasons!!!!   And 3 to 3.5 hours from my daughter in Marietta, GA.  I'd have a real house with a yard for the boys!!!!  I don't want to get my hopes up but when I get back from our vacation in March ---- this house is on the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo Hoo....say goodbye to those Gators!  Please be sure where you move does NOT have Gators.  This sounds like something that will be very good for you, Jane.  I'm so hoping it works out just the way you want it to.

Jane - That's wonderful news....and as a northerner who's always thinking about moving to a warmer climate I think either NC or SC would be on my list.    Best wishes to you!!!

I lived for 3 yrs in Augusta, Ga - not that far from Aiken - been there many times - very beautiful - big horse country.

AWESOME!  I ENVY YOU!!!   i love my home in the woods.  the only thing if the gawds were willing would be to move to a more temperate climate.  I dont push for moving, but if we were retired........well i dunno.  You go gal, I think after reading your stuff u need to be somewhere different.  How wonderful that your DH is a reasonable man.  You do realize however HOW MUCH YOU ACTUALLY OWE HIM!!  lmao~

I don't think she's owes him anything. They are a partnership and her happiness is just as important as his. If he choses to be away so much for work then I think he owes this to her!

This area would be so much more me!!!  Ya know they have a term for people that move to FL - don't care for it and move a little bit further north - Half Backs.  LOL  Moved to Florida and then moved half way back.  Thats me!!!!!!!

Oh man, you stole my term.  I was going to call you a half back.  We learned this term when we were looking in the Carolina's before finally deciding that we wanted to move further South to FL.  The Realtor in Wilmington NC told me that if you do that, one day you will be a Half Back.  Think we actually became a little more than half backs, as we came back to Ohio rather than the Carolinas.  Best of luck!  I don't envy you the selling process, but just keep your goal in mind and you will make it through.

Well I guess Half Back is better than Canadian Bacon as in what people in Florida say to the spring influx of Canadian tourist, "Here comes some more Canadian bacon looking to get burned". I hope you find the home of your dreams.

Jane,  I don't know if you've used it...but Google Earth Street View is a great way to actually drive around an area to "look" at it.   I use it all the time to "drive through" neighborhoods when looking at real estate online.

Woo Hoo Jane.  That means it will be easier for you to join our doodle play dates in Atlanta.

I am so happy for you, Jane. Life is too short to be miserable and lonely. Good luck!!!!

You should buy a cruise ship and live on that!   It's an idea.  It is a great idea.  Then, if you don't like your neighbor, throw them overboard and check them out at the next port.

All the amenities.   Hey, I like it.
