Doodle needs a home in Phoenix

This was just sent to me today on my Arizona Doodle Romp Facebook page. Anyone in Az know someone who would love this little girl and give her a home?

Are you familiar with this shelter Sue? Is she at risk? If so do you think the DRC could help her?

The Shelter is the Maricopa County Shelter....they are a kill shelter, so the dog is at risk.  I sent this to Sue's facebook page as we went to a few of the first romps until we moved to far away!  I have four doodlies now or I would go get her.....I could even foster for a bit if I knew for sure I could find her a home.  I contacted the doodle rescue (idog.biz)...but haven't heard anything back! I've sent in two donations so far to sponsor her....just trying to buy her some time....keeping my fingers crossed!

Liz I just sent a note to Jacquie at the DRC too in case there is some way they can help. How long has she been there? I am surprised she hasn't been adopted. The Doodles in shelters here are gone almost instantly! Thanks so much for helping her!

Thanks Ricki, I am very new to all this and not really sure what is the usual proceedure and who to contact. I can talk to the shelter tomorrow afternoon and I hope Jacquie will reply to you Ricki and has some direction for helping this little girl. I have no idea what's involved in fostering but I'd have to talk to DH about it. I can certainly help with a doodle train for sure. Thanks Liz and Ricki.

I'm not sure how long she has been there...I first saw her last Saturday on Petfinders...she looks exactly like my Teddy but they say small on the site and Ted is 60 pounds.  I haven't called to check on her I'm ashamed to say....I know if I do I'll go get her.....I have to watch myself or I'll have the whole shelter at my house.  I'm such a crybaby and going to the shelter is almost torture to me.....my loves are doodles but dogs are my life.......and it hurts to see so many homeless animals.  I am not sure what to do for her...bringing her home with no real plan doesn't seem responsible.....so I've just been posting her everywhere.....I can't believe she's been there that long.....who doesn't love a doodle???

I totally understand Liz, and you are very wise in realizing your limits. As a nurse, I was counseled very early in my career that we can do our best to help others but we have to take care of ourselves first or we are not ever going to be able to give others the care they deserve.
I will call at 8:00 and get and update if I can get through to a live person, and I emailed them last night. I will get in touch with DRC and Jacquie too and she if she has anyone interested in another state.
I know that going to see her would be a done deal for me too, and that vet bills at this time are just not within our budget. I will update you when I have more info. Thanks again.

She DOES look like Peri and it says she is "small" so I wonder if she is a mini? It looks like her coat is a mess and she looks so scared. :(
