So I have a teething (I think!) 7 month old puppy who has began chewing again. She loves Nylabones but was chewing off too big of pieces. The pet store reccomeneded all natural and grain free beef marrow bones. I just wanted everyone opinion on these bones. What else might be good for a teething puppy with some adult teeth already?

Thanks!

Boiling bones can make them brittle..and therefore can splinter...
Thanks you ALL!! What great feedback! How often is it ok to give her a marrow bone?

WHAT TO DO??? My DH is afraid to give them marrow bones and antlers he thinks they will hurt their teeth. I've been searching for a long time for a treat for them, Good luck-looks like you got a lot of ideas!

if your concerned about the hygiene of raw bones, just give them to your dog in their crate then spray the crate with vinegar afterwards. Cooper loves chicken backs, turkey necks, pork hocks, and pork and beef ribs. You can get then really cheap from the grocery store and keep them in the freezer.

I try to give Buster natural chewing options his kong is the only exception.  I use himalayan dog chews, antlers, and raw bones like marrow & shanks.  The natural stuff costs a lot but they last for months!  I always serve raw bones with pumpkin, tapioca, or fruits & veggies for fiber so I can avoid tummy problems that stuff can be too rich.
