Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I was just thinking about how breeders get their dogs. Not me but a lot of people especially pure bred breeders are against mixed breeds unless they are from a rescue then its okay to adopt one.So if breeders are only looking for the betterment of their purebred dogs and to only improve that particular breed. Why would they sell a breeding dog to a breeder that breeds mixed breeds? No reputable breeder of a pure bred dog that cares about their breed and improving upon that breed would ever sell breeding stock to a breeder that breeds mixed breeds. It makes sense to me.So where are these premium labradoodle breeders and goldendoodle breeders getting their quality stock from.Once again im confused. What am i missing here? Please keep an open mind these are not my opinions and is not a stab at the awesome LD and GD.

ooohh, it would be fun to find out who's doodles are related.
My bet is that almost all doodle who have some Australian background have at least one common ancestor if not more. I think it would drive us crazy figuring it out. And then there's always were those pedigrees accurate?
Personally speaking, I've purchased three beautiful Golden Retriever pups from champion breeders and they KNEW I was a doodle breeder. If you prove yourself to be a responsible, quality breeder that is striving for healthy pups, many will sell to doodle breeders. If you keep back your own puppies, it only takes about four years to build up a breeding program out of a couple quality girls. At this moment I am delivering grandbabies of one of those girls. :) Also, there is a very large network of quality doodle breeders. We buy from each other too.
Can we see pedigrees? When you say champion breeders, do you mean that the dam and sire of your Goldens where both AKC Champions?
Yes, for one of them, both parents are champions. The other two, one parent is a champion. I have an agreement with the breeders that sold me their dogs not to publicly disclose their Kennel name. They are scared of people like you. Why so cynical? You always seem very negative when you write about doodle breeders and doodles in general. Do you have a doodle? Do you like them? Many active posters have left DK because of the negativity. Who wants to come to a place where you constantly have to defend your dog....or your reasons for breeding them? I disagree with several things about AKC and the purebred world but don't feel the need to publicly state them.
Why so secretive? If the Golden breeders believed in your program enough to sell you breeding dogs, then why would they not want their names used?
So how about this. You have a litter of F1 Goldendoodles right now out of Lacey and Jamie (Poodle). Can you post their pedigrees?
What? This thread is about where do Doodle breeders get their breeding dogs from. I don't see what the big deal is. Pedigrees are a history of a dog's background and they share information. Why would they be secret? As Joyce said, there is plenty of web site hype. Claims get made that are often not true. Jared asked the question and it was an honest one. Why are you trying to sweep this under a rug? It seems to me that it is good information for buyers to have. (i.e what is really going into your Doodle?)
Loving doodles doesn't mean not asking questions about them or having concerns about certain things. I love my children, too, but I don't think every single thing about them is perfect.
Amen.
mY DOG is closer to perfect than the kids! LOL!
Kudos, Andrea!
