Does anyone know of an indestrucible dog bed or have an experience with one? Everytime I buy him one, he ends up ripping it apart and take out the stuffing.........and he even has chew toys in there with him.
So if you have any ideas, please post them and the websites if you know them. I greatly appreciate it :)
You say that just because Rosco likes cold hard places to sleep. ;-)
I don't think there is such a thing as a chew proof bed.
I do think that the problem is probably just a puppy phase... like the rest of the random inappropriate chewing. (You have experienced that, right?) So if it is in his crate that he's chewing it, remove the bed for a while and leave only appropriate chew options. Then in a few weeks/months you can try the bed in the crate again. Thule chewed up a bed in her crate after I first got her. But now she's fine with it. And this bed is identical to the one she chewed up as a reckless youth.
Crates are the best thing I know to eliminate inappropriate chewing. It keeps the habit from forming and teaches them other good things to chew on.
I agree no bed in the crate unless the chewing phase is done. we bout giada a cheap one at Menards, so glad we did because she tore it up in no time, so now we are waiting for her to be a bit older:)
If it is in the crate my guess is THAT is why. My dogs tend to chew whatever is in the crate. Not sure if that can be stopped. I just try to put toys in there to help with the chewing.
No beds in the crate, he gets bored in there and has nothing else to do! The only toys that should be in his crate are hard nylon toys that cant be eaten. Stuffies and rubber toys along with beds are dangerous companions for your dog when he is not being supervised.
Now that I am off that rant~ Try Orvis.com they guarantee their beds.... just dont put it in his crate
