Hi everyone....I just have a little question. How old was you're male doodle when he began to lift his leg to pee?? or does he still do the stretch/squat still like my Bruce?

I think (not sure 100%) that this just came up in our Puppy Madness group...some good feedback there!

That said...Rosco was 10 months. But he still squats 90% of the time. Lifts on bushes and trees OUTSIDE our property only.

I think you will find this discussion useful. Answers are all over the board...so I really think it just will depend on your dood?
Blake is nearly 2 years old....It never occurs to him to lift.....He's still a squater..lol..I think it has to do with when they are neutered....the younger the are the less likely they are to lift....
around 9 months...
Harley is almost 2, and he has never lifted his leg. I doubt he ever will.
Toby is 2 plus and is still squats. Neutered at 5 months.
Koda was over a year old when he began to lift his leg, but he doesn't always do it (he was neutered at 6 months). It started doing it only when things were next to him when he was peeing (lamp post, bush, fence) randomly and then gradually he began to do it more and more. At two he now does both the stretch/squat and the lift. Sometimes he even does both at once which is a sight. Strange little puppy! He really isn't a marker though. When he lifts, he may mean to mark, but he just can't for some reason. I guess it all depends on what mood he is in. He has quite a range of variations in position in the potty department.
18 months. Before that he squated like a girlie. Now he lifts and marks every 10 seconds - fortunately only outside!
Little Finny lifts? What a little manly man you've become, Fion!
