metal piece in food

I'm a little mad. I just found a piece of metal in Ollie's food. I took it out so obviously he is fine. But how does this even happen?

Ya, that's how I felt. I almost didn't say anything at all because stuff happens...it doesn't make them a horrible company, but I just didn't want a puppy to get ahold of metal like that.

Is this the Fromm Gold Large Breed Puppy Gold (Blue Bag) or the Puppy Gold (Pink Bag)? Please let us know what the reply is from Fromm! I feed Louie the Large Breed Puppy Gold and will definitely be on the look out. Thanks so much for letting us know!!!

It's the pink bag. I sent the info to Fromm, I'm sure they will be great about it :) I unfortunately can't get more Fromm until tomorrow...so I poured all of his food on a plate and looked through it to see if I could find another piece of metal in there...I have not so far.

Thanks Rachel. I actually had a small pink bag that I mixed with a big blue bag, so I have a little of each type of Fromm Gold in Louie's food bin at the moment. I am going to be extra careful to watch what I am scooping up. I am so glad you mentioned this. I am anxious to hear what you hear from Fromm. I live in WI, and the Fromm family/company is in WI and they are just the best people ever. I am really shocked that there was metal in the food. Accidents happen, I'm sure. It's still surprising, but I'm sure (hopefully) they will make it right.

I definitely love the food. Ollie has only been on it a little while and his tummy seems so much better and he loves the food...such an improvement! I don't plan on changing him again...and they seem like a great company. Things happen.

Right. Totally. I'm sure it was (obviously) a freak accident and Fromm will definitely want to know about it. Louie does so well on the food, and I also fed it to my beloved German Shepherd for years, and he had a very tricky tummy. I bet you will hear from Tricia from Fromm in the morning!

Please let us know what Fromm says.  I feed Fromm (4 Star) and we recommend it HIGHLY on the Food Group, so I am very curious as to their response.

Hey all!

Fromm emailed me and they were great about it. They apologized and completely closed manufacturing process by their lines and want me to send the piece of metal so they can know what might have happened and where it came from. They are doing everything they need to to make sure it won't happen again and feel terrible about it. I am very pleased with their response and how they are taking action to check into how it happened.

Way to go Fromm!
