Hello

I am a raw feeder (I mix with honest kitchen, Embark) I am looking to switch vets, but I am having a hard time finding a vet that agrees with raw feeding...any suggestions?

Thank you in advance

I had some success with HK, more than kibbles but theres too much fruit and veg in it for my liking. It's probably a good choice for a topper!

My vet is very supportive and, with my leading the way (although we're not feeding raw at the moment), she now feeds raw (Stella & Chewey's) to her toy poodles.  However, we aren't in your area, Jill - sorry!

When we were feeding raw, we were feeding Instinct and BARF frozen patties.  It was complicated somewhat by the fact that I have been avoiding chicken and beef for my dog, so not every diet worked for him. Both of these companies had "exotic" proteins available.  Also, he would not eat the mushy reconstituted freeze-dried foods.  He loves S&C, but at a very active 50 lbs, there's no way I could afford to feed him exclusively that.

I do intend to return him to the raw diet.  He started refusing it and, after 2 weeks, lost 2+ lbs before I tried regular food and he began eating again.  He now eats a combo of TOTW kibble, Dave's brand canned, with a crumbled S&C patty on top.

I too, was in the same situation as Jane...tried a bunch of different foods and medications, and the Honest Kitchen has worked for us! Now, I am too scared to try anything else...(thinking back to those days of the uncontrolable diarrhea...ugh) I believe the Honest Kitchen is worth it...but I do add raw meat to make the HK last longer! And, BTW, I did find a vet that was willing to learn more about raw feeding, though he said he does not endorse it..so far, this is the only one I found! Soooooo, its looking like I am going to have to teach my new vet! lol
