Just thinking about our wedding in May and was wondering if it is totally dorky and weird to have Parker as part of the day as I would love to have my baby in my photos since he was part of the engagement shoot! I could get him a nice bow-tie and he could be my ring bearer?? lol

His trainer from his puppy classes actually offers this service and since everything else is so upside down with my wedding planning and my parents probably not even coming, I felt like doing something fun. The original theme of the wedding was supposed to be FUN anyway because we decided to get married next to a carousel.

I don't know...I don't wanna be one of "those people" as people have said to me but I guess I will see...I gotta see how much the trainer charges to transport him and get him ready because we have a super budget now that we are suddenly paying for everything now because when we signed all the contracts, my parents were going to pay 50%. OY

Pictures of my photogenic dood from our engagement shoot this summer.

UPDATE: The dog trainer who could deal with Parker was okay financially but happens to have another wedding on the same Friday night as ours! There goes that!

Katie, just to add one piece of perspective - no matter what happens, keep in mind that it is not the wedding, but the marriage that is the most important thing.

A bit of advice I give to all the brides I know well. The wedding is one day, the marriage a life-time. With all the hoopla it can get all out of perspective.

I say do it! Far too many couples have uncooperative toddlers throwing tantrums as ring bearers; having a well behaved doodle would be a delight!

I think it would be way cool for Parker to do this.  If your trainer will take charge of him then you have no worries.  It will either work or not and if it doesn't it will still be fun and cute to try.

I think we have all voted! DO IT! Can't wait to see the pics! If they are anything like your engagement pics, they will be FABULOUS!!

Just in case you haven't seen this clothing page.  Dog Formal Wear & Wedding Apparel,

http://www.doggieclothesline.com/product/black-satin-formal-dog-tux...  I did see this site...was thinking this for Parker. But the trainer is not available the day of our wedding anyway...apparently we are not the only Friday night wedding on May 4th!

Can you train him to walk slowly to DF And someone in the family or close friend take care of him afterward or take to hotel room?

We have no one that would do that for us...not a lot of super dog lovers in the family and especially none that want jobs at the wedding.

Ok then, let's think....do you have a Petsmart nearby and possibly one of their trainers or even a cashier who loves dogs that you can pay a much smaller fee to than your trainer? Any highshool kids in the neighborhood, any doodle romps nearby with members who know and love doodles to ask and you can exchange dog sitting for instead of paying. A groomer nearby might know of someone who is great with dogs and could do it. A co worker?

There has to be SOMEBODY??

I will keep thinking..I hate asking people for favors...I feel like I am imposing on people. I was gonna see if the dog sitter would consider it since she will have him anyway...but it just feels weird telling people to come to the wedding but they aren't allowed to stay for the food lol because Parker has to go back home!
