Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello
I have a neighbor looking at adopting a goldendoodle (mom a golden and dad a poodle) and she read that ALL goldendoodles shed ~ this puppy looks like a very wavy fleece coat not curly just very wavy.
She loves my labradoodles because they do not shed. What are your thoughts??? The breeder said he will not shed but then she was reading on Goldendoodle World that they all shed.
I told her I would ask the "experts" on DK!
Thanks!

I have a female goldendoodle 13 months old. She is an F1 (Mom was a golden and dad a standard poodle). She doesn't shed. Just the normal couple of strands that any dog sheds. She did shed some when she had her puppy coat and even that was very tolerable. I know there is NEVER any guarantee!!!! Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!!! They are a WONDERFUL Breed. BEST dog we have ever had~
Casper is an F1 & he basically does not shed - I only occasionally find a little tumbleweed on the hardwood floors, but that is all. I have had black pants on all day & there is not a single hair on me : )
And I certainly agree with Heather - BEST BREED EVER!!!!!!
I have a F1b goldendoodle and he does not shed. Of course, he is more poodle than goldendoodle, but he has the most marvelous coat. He does not mat, does not shed, and requires very little care.
If it is a reputable breeder? that may be the best person to know what that pairings past litters have thrown in coats. Otherwise its a crap shoot. We met a nine year of golden doodle up town yesterday that was shaved and really tight curls with a beautiful coat. Neely has a curly fleece that hardly sheds, just what you get out of the comb. The one we met up town looked more poodle but sheds like a retriever all the time! You would never have thought. If they need a non shedding dog for sure, there are lots of pure breds that do not shed and have gorgeous coats.
Thanks for all responses. They have decided on either a poodle or a old english sheepdog. She asked if she could come and visit the puppies and the breeder said "no window shopping allowed" and that made her very nervous. They are talking with a standard poodle breeder in AL and looking at puppy photos.
Thanks again!
