Doods and TV

All this talk about the Puppy Bowl and our doods watching....I love all the posts and pictures. But I was wondering...Daisy Never Notices TV no matter what is on, does everyone's doodle actually watch, should I be worried?

Maybe she prefers reading? LOL

In the book, Inside of a Dog, the author talks about TV watching. I think the theory is that older TVs, with slower refresh rates, aren't very interesting to dogs, because they see it as stop-motion, instead of the way we see it. Newer TVs, with faster rates, look like real motion to them, so it may be more interesting to them. I can't remember if it was something they tried to research, or just an idea they threw out there. Halas is interested in noises from the TV, but he doesnt really watch it. I think it caught his attention when he was a puppy, but now he doesn't seem interested.

Zach definitely does watch tv, especially anything with animals.

Quincy does not watch TV, he will occassionally glance at it and never fails to bark at a doorbell that rings on TV but he runs to the door and doesn't equate the sound with the TV. He does, however, devour books.
