I looked through this group to find some stained glass projects, but didn't see anything.  Anyone have stained glass projects that you've completed and want to share?  I think projects like these would be fun in our retirement years (not there yet, darn it).

My husband did 1 or two pieces back in the 80's, and last year we got a tiny vacation place on the Oregon coast that needed something.  We decided to put his rusty skills to work.  We found a free picture of a lighthouse on the internet, and I enlarged it in Paint and printed it section by section, then taped it together.  Then we worked on little changes.  Then he annoyed the local glass shop workers by shopping for just the right glass, and had to buy new equipment for the project.  Then he made the thing,  AND then we transported it up there in our bumpy vehicle without breaking it.  That was the biggest accomplishment, I think.  Anyway, I really like how it turned out, and added much needed 'something' to our little space.

Here's the picture I found:

And her'e how it turned out:

That is a very beautiful result. What an ambitious project!

Thanks, F.  The hardest part was transporting it.  I was nervous the whole drive.

It's beautiful....I can't even imagine having that much patience.  PJ, you are so creative and talented.

Thanks, Jane.  My husband gets full credit for this one.  I've never tried stained glass myself.

Wow....how lovely!  If those are rusty skills....I want to see a practiced hand!  Beautiful!

I agree.  He's good at assembling stuff, which is kinda what this is I guess.  We need to figure out a way to take a picture of a subject and turn it into a great pattern.  That will be the trick.  Thanks, Nancy.

WOW! That's FANTASTIC!!! I would LOVE to have a stained glass window like that in my house someday.

I'm in awe of his skills!!!!

Thanks Linda!  He kinda good to have around.  AND he cooks!

Wow! A man of many talents. He's a keeper, fer sure! lol!

BEAUTIFUL!  Both the window and your home.

Thanks much, Nancy.  We really enjoy that little place.  Even though it is really, really small, it has a lake in the front and the ocean in the back.  So if you sit in that room with the stained glass, you can see both.  Pretty cool place to go and unwind.

That is just wonderful, how special to be able to enjoy this on a daily basis.
