I don't know if you have seen the news on the weather, but the mid-South region, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia and a few more areas, are bracing for tornados this afternoon.
If you go to the Weather Channel, or anywhere else, there is a circle of white in middle-TN, where I happen to be located (and other DKers for sure). That area of white has the greatest chance for tornados and is on high alert. Schools are closing at noon today.
I am at work, Peri is at daycare 1.5 miles from me. Tacky is at my parents (yes, we were so scared we took him to grandma's so he wouldn't be alone). Honestly, freaking out a bit. They are usually pretty spot on with these reports. I wish they would just go away! Of course I don't want them hitting Nashville, but don't want them moving north or south either! JUST GO AWAY!
This could probably be a blog, but I wanted to get other DKers attention - everyone in the South stay safe today and tonight!
UPDATE: DH's office is closing at NOON - he is an attorney, so that's a big deal. Thank God he is picking up dogs and going home to the basement. My work has a basement, so we should hopefully be okay. Fingers crossed.

Be Safe Allison (and all others in the path) -- Yes, an attorney's office closing would get my attention for sure! We are in Southern Ohio and will be watching the weather closely for sure. This is one of those days that I wish DH would of gotten his wish of a basement! Might be a tight fit with two adults and two doodles in a closet.
It's really not even just the South - its the whole Eastern area!
Allyson, I saw this last night and thought of you, as well as all of our other friends in the path of these storms. A town in Southern IL was hit with a category 4 tornado earlier this week and the devastation is mindboggling. Unfortunately, they are in the path of this same storm front again.
Please stay safe, friends!!!
I hope all of you, and everyone in the area, stays safe . I wish the tornadoes just go away too.
I'm so glad DH is taking the pooches to the basement for safety if need be. May you and all the areas in danger be spared. This has been a very scary tornado year+.
Our Warnings begin at 7pm--so far. It's Spring. Be safe
Stay safe, Allyson, and everyone else in the path! I hope it just "goes away" too!
LOL I sound like a child saying "just go away!"
Ahh that is very scary! There are many times I have wished to live in a warmer climate and then I see reports like these and I realize I can be happy on the cold, windy prairies, lol! Wishing safety for all!
Allyson, I hope they are wrong for a change! What a blessing that DH got off to get the dogs and get home safely. I also hope you don't get stuck at work! Be safe, I will be happy for our snowfall today, thinking of you guys!
The girls are checking out the tornado shelter. We broke open what was previously the hurricane kit, now the tornado kit and we are good to go. It is now raining pretty good, and the thunder has started but we really don't anticipate much serious stuff before late afternoon or early evening. The girls are checking out the space and I think that they actually might want to leave it like this. This is the closet in their room which we cleaned out this morning. We don't have a basement and all of the rooms in our house are on an exterior wall with the exception of the laundry which unfortunately also houses the hot water heater and furnace and gas hook up. Is also on the Southwest corner of the house which is where we don't want to be. So, this is our best option. I'm guessing I did all of this for nothing, but that will be ok.
Awe...stay safe guys! All I can say is the view out one of my windows is sunny. The other side from the west is very dark and ominous. It is super quiet...calm before the storm as they say.
