Doogle's new haircut

Doogle (now 13 months old and 77lbs)  just got back from the doggy parlour, we knew he would have to be clipped quite short because unfortunately he has one of those coats that gets matted badly! The poor boy must have been quite uncomfortable. I was dreading what he was going to look like,because we love his shaggy coat and polar bear legs but we have had to do whats best for him, i must admit though we are very pleased with how he's turned out! :)

Thanks, thats very kind of you but i think your Bailey is gorgeous too, she looks very similar to Doogle. I wonder if i could  buy those products you mentioned online as i'm in the uk?

Thank you - I was looking at Darwin's photo's a few weeks ago and he is a beautiful dog. His coat is all shaggy like Doogle's was.

Doogle is beautiful-I especially like how they rounded the top of his head. I was going to say he will be much more comfortable this summer. But.. then I saw you live in the UK. Heat may not be an issue there. :)

I live in Florida and was debating whether to have my dogs haircut and after seeing yours-I am going to do it!!

Boy, you lucked out and got a good groomer.  Doogle looks really good.  For a bunch of mats he doesn't look like he had to be shaved to the skin.  I just love how they did his face and head.  Be sure to tell him how cute he looks!!!  They understand exactly what you are saying!!  ha ha

Thanks everyone, we are very lucky with our groomer, it took her many hours and i must admit i was getting worried if he would have any hair left! Doogle seems so happy with his hair being shorter, he was panting such a lot, i guess it was all the really thick hair he had making him so hot (even in England haha).

He looks good!  It does get easier with the matting... Tori used to mat SO bad too.  But then as her coat became more "adult-like" (lol) the mats were not as bad.  She does still mat, if we don't keep up with it as we should, but not as fast.  When she was younger, it seemed to happen overnight.  Now I can get her to the groomer before too much damaged has begun.  That 'Mr. Doogle' is so cute! And before you kow it his hair will be long again!
