OK - I admit...I am a H-U-G-E football fan - particularly a Colts' fan (I live in Greenwood, Indiana - suburb of Indy).  We have had Colts' season tickets for 15 years (one year before Peyton came on the scene).  I am extremely devastated today...Poor Bexter Doodle can't figure out why his mommy keeps crying.  I'm at a loss for words - Can you believe that?  All I have to say is...Wherever Peyton goes, I am going to visit a DK friend nearby to go watch him play. BooHoo.

What a class act Peyton is! I agree with you - what a loss for your team! Would love to see him play for da Bears but Chicago is too cheap to play for good players. I haven't been excited about the Bears quarterback since the punky QB we had in the 80's.

Those were the Glory Days, for sure.

Lisa - Please don't misunderstand me.  I ABSOLUTELY want Peyton to retire.  The very thought of him in another jersey makes me literally sick to my stomach.  I am NOT taking this well.  I just KNOW that he won't retire (unless he can't play due to injury).

Roberta - I will try to overlook the fact that you are a NE fan!  You guys are sooo lucky to have Brady.  I bet he'll retire with you.  Not fair!  When he was out for a year, you guys looked forward to his comeback & you got it.  We will never have ours...

Joe - I do sort of feel sorry for Andrew Luck because he has BIG shoes (and reputation) to fill.  I was a Colt season ticket holder before Peyton.  But...as for your question about whether I am a Peyton fan OR a Colts' fan...Right now in my depressed state, I can't separate the two.  Peyton IS the Colts and the Colts ARE Peyton.  I see no difference right now.

I see your point Tracy. I remember all the QB's the Steelers had after Terry Bradshaw retired having to try and live up to that history. I work with a colt fan and felt bad for him all last season. Hopefully you guys can bounce back quicly.

Poor Traci-I teared up watching his interview too! Time will make things better!

I have to say this.....I DO NOT like Peyton. It has nothing to do with football either. DH and I were at a restaurant/bar listening to a band. We live in Memphis and Peyton's wife is from Memphis. This was right before Christmas so I am sure they were here to see family. Peyton was outside hanging out. I walked up to him and asked him for a picture with him. He told me "It is against team rules to take a picture in a bar". He did shake my hand though. Here is the thing ...... we were not in a bar we were outside a bar against a brick wall. I was not holding a drink and neither was he. I don't get it. Seriously??? He could have had a picture with the ultra cool Leigh!!!!

I get what you're saying.  Where I work we have done some charity events with him.  I seem to remember that he came in, made a quick appearance, and was out.  I know that he has done a lot for the city, but I think his time is up.  I don't foresee him having a lengthy career with any other team.

Peyton is on the same list with Alan Alda in my book. When I was little I saw him while we were on vacation. I was around 9 years old and thought the world of Alan Alda. He refused to give me an autograph. To this day I will not watch one single thing that Alan Alda is in. I think a lot of this fame goes too much to their heads.

Well, now I can pretty much retire any Colts jersey anybody in my family has ever worn.  Since we have absolutely no players returning this year.  I'm thinking of either getting Peyton's new team jersey and wearing that to Lucas Oil Stadium OR getting a custom made jersey that has 00 on the back with NO PLAYER NAME since I don't know any anyway!

Traci, gone but not forgotten....I would continue wearing it with pride.

I still wear my Charles Nagy Indians shirt - he's been gone for years.
