OT -- But Please HELP This Little Boy! Only 10 hours left to Vote!

This isn't a doodle contest, but it is for a very special little boy whose life has not been so easy.  He is the Grandson of a lady who works with my Sister in a Head Start program in Ohio.  The Grandmother has custody of this little boy and his younger Brother.  On top of trying to raise two little boys as a Grandmother (we won't go into where the parents are, but use your imagination), both of the little boys have Juvenile diabetes.  The little boy who did this lego design is absolutely crazy about legos ... winning this contest would be about the best thing he could probably ever imagine getting to do.  He is in 2nd place but needs like 25 votes to move into 1st place for the grand prize.  You can only vote once, so I can't really help him anymore other than to ask if you or anyone you know would be willing to vote.

I can't even imagine being the Grandma that is having to deal with it.  You think when you get to the Grandparent age you are thinking about slowing down and retiring, not monitoring every ounce of food that goes into the child's mouth and then calculating how much insulin.  Bad enough that one of the boys had it, then the 2nd one was diagnosed.

I truly feel for that grandmother. It is so hard as an adult and I can't imagine it as a child. I hope he wins!!

Thanks to everyone who helped by voting for this little guy.  I just logged in to see where it ended up at midnight, but it was closed out and the number of votes no longer shows up.  Guess the winners will be announced by Saturday evening.  I had noticed that the other entry was getting several votes yesterday as well, so I don't think we were able to catch up.  I think there might be a final round of judging, so we shall see how it turns out.

How many votes did he have when you looked?  Last time I looked which was about 8pm he had 85 and the other one had 109 (so they were going up at the same time we were).  There is one final step in the judging and I'm hoping that helps as I think his was so much better than the Cleveland Cavs pic (no offense to the Cavs) which is the one that was ahead of him.  I think he will at least get tickets to go to the show, just not positive he will get the hotel stay and the other attraction tickets.  I'll let you guys know once I hear.  Might not be till Monday when my Sister goes back to work after they announce over the week-end who the winners are.
