Annual Checkup

[Anne & Mr. Haley]

I took Haley to the vet yesterday for the annual checkup. Everything was OK.

While in the waiting room a beautiful Doberman came in. After his mom checked in they sat next to us. He and Haley wanted to play so badly. They did the usual sniffing and they put paws on each other and Haley actually play bowed. Here is a picture of them I took with my cell phone. Too bad they were so close to me (at my feet) so this was the best shot I could get.

Aww, love it! We had a Dobie before our Doodle days, he was 13 1/2 years old when he passed on Aug. 22, 2010! I still miss him very much! They are such beautiful & amazing dogs! Of course along with any dog, there is to much bad breeding & bad ownership giving these poor dogs a bad name! My Dobie got attacked at the vet, by a cat that was not in a crate, in the waiting room. The cat ripped a major atery in his cheeck, making it the size of a tennis ball (my Piston weighed 144 lbs at that time), Piston was so scared, he was shaking & just wanted out of there! Now fast forward to our doodle, Wheeler! If that would happen to my little 55 lb. doodleman, I don't think he would be as calm as my Dobie was, I think the cat better run for it's life, LOL! My doodle has more of an attitude than my Dobie ever did, LOL

Nothing like making friends at the vet so they can forget where they are!! Glad all is well!

Haley has no problem going to the vet.  It is one big party for him until they stick something in his butt!  As soon as the object is out he is good to go visit and party.  He is probably the only doodle that they see and has made quite a hit with the staff and clients.

Hey, by the way...Great idea to post an uneventful healthy annual.  Maybe we should all post when we go to the vet & our doods are healthy.  Makes everybody so happy to hear!

Jack just had his a little early because he had a puppy with Parvo in our neighborhood and since I titer test... I wanted to make sure he was okay.. He again came out high in his titers....so there was no need to give him a shot of Distemper or Parvo.

Do you who have older dogs bring your dog in more then one a year for a check up? I know we are at the vet on a very regular basis because of ear infections, food intolerance, or other things, but I was wondering as our dogs age if you will be bringing them more then once.
