I bought Luca a horse ball and wrote an discussion about it.
He managed on Day 1 of play to literally pull the plug on it. Luckily I rescued it before he could prove to it that he's the man.
The good: Today was beautiful and Luca's fourth birthday so I reinflated the ball. The plug was pushed waaay in. Someone had asked the other day for a video so here it is:
The bad: The ball always ended up caught in shrubs along the fence, as you can see in the video. So I kept having to go rescue it. Often Luca was breaking pieces of shrubs that were blocking the ball : (
The ugly: I don't know if it was a tooth or more likely a sharp twig but the ball developed a triangular tear. It is now in intensive care and I don't know if I can repair it. It was fun while it lasted.

Love your mower! My boys (farmers) only drive JD!!!!!
I think grass mowing time will be here momentarily. I had it serviced yesterday, normally it doesn't look quite so clean.
Happy Birthday, Luca. I just ordered one of these balls based on your recommendation. Now, I hope I am not looking at the same situation in a week. I hope the ball can be re-inflated to good health some day! Enjoyed the pictures and video!!
Laurie, where did you buy from...so many choices so little time?
There's an Amazon link you can see in the first discussion but if you buy go through the DK site.
Always - thanks!
I got it through Amazon :) F posted a link.
We bought Luna a human exercise ball, but I can't see it being tougher than a horse ball... However, we did buy a really BIG one (72"), so she can't bite it at all. She's a mini though, who knows with the bigger doodles!
Happy Birthday Luca, burgers for your birthday, yum! That ball looked like a lot of fun for you maybe your mom could contact the company and see if they will replace it because it died so young. I don't know if it's really any stronger but it looks exactly like an exercise ball to me. Now that I see the picture I know where that white plug I came across the other day belongs.
I think it may be a bit tougher. The more I think about it I think a sharp branch from a shrub may have gotten it with Luca being the unintended impaler so to speak. He might have been the sharpener too since he bites off any shrub branches in his way. I think the ball would work best in a yard with fencing and no shrubs and obstacles. But I"d hate that sort of thing and I'd have to start planting : )
It sure looks like Luca was "having a ball".....sorry about that! Happy Birthday, handsome!
Thanks.
