Okay, I totally goofed up and messed up the passing of this latest HDA trophy.

When I last looked at the list of highest ranked (by points) HDA's it appeared, at the moment, that there were no HDA's there who hadn't gotten the trophy passed to them.  So I told Diane (current HDA recipient) to put forth the "new rules" in her post.  Well as soon as we did that it turned out I had goofed and there are actually about 3-4 members on the current list that have not gotten the trophy and want it.  You see the HDA list is dynamic and changes as members' points change.  However, it's also limited to only the top 50 (points-wise) and there is no way to expand the list (a shortcoming I did not realize was there when we purchased the package that allowed us to create the list in the first place.  Now that the company who created this package is defunct and not able to support their product...well...we have to create a new way to send the HDA trophy along). 

In the meantime we will finish going through the list of people who are HDA status but have not received the trophy (minus a couple who aren't participating on DK anymore and have said we can pass them up).

Once the trophy has been passed to everyone on that list, then we will send it to Nicky & Riley because they were the first to respond to the 'new rules' and THEN...others will have a chance to get it in this way at that time:

In the future, when Nicky and Riley post their announcement that they have received the trophy, if you have reached HDA status, have never had the trophy, and you are the first to respond to their post letting her know you want it...then it will be yours.  And that's how it will continue from there!

Just a thought, but maybe it could be passed to the person with the highest points that responds within a certain time frame. That way it would really still be points based for those who have been diligently watching thier points. I've already had my turn so this is just an idea I am throwing out there. It wouldn't be hard to check the points status of a few responders. This would be after Nicky recieves it since she was the first responder this time.

I like this idea.... Points based and response based within a certain time frame. I have reached HDA status, but didn't see the new rules post until recently and didn't have time to respond. Is it to late?

I agree Donna I was  thinking the same thing. Also, we need to continue to keep an eye on the top 50, other members might creep in and bump others out as move along on the list. It sure didn't take me long. I remember looking at that list and thinking "maybe some day..." and here I am!

Christine, the link to the top 50 list is above in my original post in blue.  Text in blue is usually linked to something.  Click on it to see who is in the top 50.  THAT is the list we've been going by the past 3 years, yes it has taken that long to get through nearly 50 members :)

ha ha. I can't believe I'm at the top of the above list. I am the newest member of all of these guys. I need to get a real life!! lol!!

The only reason that I responded first is because of the time differences I found the discussion first !!!   I don't mind at all how long it takes for the trophy to arrive in Ireland the fact that I know that it will be on it's way sometime in the future is great.

I think Donna's suggestion is an excellent one.  First responder in say 24 hours, with the highest points gets the trophy - after we exhaust the list and after Nicky and Riley.
