Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Owen ate a dry diaper. My DD took the grandkids to the park while I took a quick nap. When I woke up, I found just bits and pieces of a dry diaper. Owen was chomping down the last of it as I came in the room. I called the vet who had us come in. He induced vomiting but not that much came up. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm worried sick that the diaper is going to swell up in his belly.
UPDATE:
He finally pooped. Found some gel in it. I imagine that he will evacuate more, but I think he will be fine. I'm so relieved. Thanks for all of your kindness and concern.

a woman on the FB page I Love Labradoodles is going through this now.
Thank you so much Adrianne. I will keep checking on Cassie.
No diapers, but I've known many a dog who ate sanitary products and all were fine. Did your vet think there was any reason to still be concerned?
Owen, why are you making your mom worry about you?????
Bonnie, I hope (and believe) he'll be fine.
The problem with today's disposable diapers is they have a moisture absorbing gel inside. The vet tech and I seemed more worried than the vet. I am going to call them tomorrow to let them know if he has passed something. They recommended that I flavor his water to induce him to drink more. Yikes. Thanks for your hopeful and helpful response, Karen.
I was thinking the same thing about the gel inside the diaper. It's good you brought him in to the vet. Sending well wishes to Owen!!!!
Oh my, I didn't know about the gel. I'm assuming the vet knows about it?
The tech and I told him about the gel. I don't think he has kids though. :(
Oh I have a whopper of a story about doodles eating "whatever" when my little charge goes back home. Wonders never cease!
Lisa, Owen is infamous for eating the uneatable but this is the capper. It was a three year old's diaper so a big one! Arrgh!
Sedona's done her share of diaper sniffing - mostly the poopy ones - but fortunately has not eaten one! Hope Owen's fine!
Oh Owen, you silly doodle! I hope he passes it quickly Bonnie. I think it is positive that the vet is less worried than you are. Keep us updated on "what comes to pass."
I don't have any advice, just sending positive thoughts that everything will be well.
