Nothing major - I just washed it and put first aid ointment on it. The dog that bit me (of three Puggles - I'm not sure which one) is up to date on shots so I'm not worried. It was so strange - I've always heard that you should never jump into the middle of a dog fight but when that dog(s) went after my baby - I never took time to even think. I ran about 15 feet and literally took a flying tackle onto Stuart and kept right on rolling taking all 70 lbs of him with me and out of harms way. During the leap and roll one of the Puggles chomped into my thigh. In an ironic twist I didn't have on my usual outfit - a tennis or golf skirt - I actually had on running tights to below my knee - saved me from a worse injury, plus cellulite is hard to puncture. I've never trusted those Puggles and now know that my gut instinct was correct. One of them attacked Stuart over a ball and the rest jumped in. The owners feel bad but nobody actually saw it get started so they aren't going to accept any real blame, and all I know is that Stuart is so gentle and unassertive but when attacked he went into defense mode to protect himself, a real 1st. It WAS a stupid move on my part but without thinking I was willing to do whatever it took to protect him just on instinct. I think tomorrow that I'm going to be sore from head to toe.

Haha amazing. This made me crack up. Thank you for the laugh!
You are not alone - I would do the same thing without thinking to protect my girls! TG it isn't too bad but it should be reported. That dog should not be allowed in an off leash dog park!
It should be reported BUT to be very fair - while we were all right there and had been watching - at the very moment it started - no one of us had our eyes on them. I'm 99.9% sure of what happened but since I can't say that I saw it - I'm just not going to be around them. We usually get to the park earlier and so now when they come - I'll leave.
I am so glad both you and Stuart are okay. I'm also sure I would have responded in a similar fashion if Camus were being attacked. Ironically, I just had a conversation with another dog owner (non-doodle) who told me about the Dazer 2, which emits a noise that dogs hate. He witnessed it being used in a dog park and was astonished by the results. There was a minor tussle between 2 dogs and someone turned on their battery operated Dazer - he said the dogs immediately stopped. I just googled it and this is one link http://www.positive-works.com/dazer/?gclid=CLqe4c2T_K4CFWYZQgodeTZg3g
I'm going to read more about it, seems to warrant some research and I may buy one.
I'm going to check into this. Thanks.
I checked it out on Amazon. The reviews were about half positive , half negative.
What reviews on Amazon?
For the Dazer II
Mom's simply act to save their babies, and think later. You did a good thing I am sure. I am sorry you got bit. Might have been nice if Stuart had put those little puggles in their places, but then he would have been accused of being a bully.
Nancy the funney part (if there is one) is that by the time I went flying, Stuart was going after those puggles - I've never seen him ever stick up for himself.
Luna has really only started to stick up for herself at about 1.5 years old. She still rolls on her back submissively for almost every dog, but if a dog tries to "bully" her she either runs away or gives them a warning air snap.
That injury on your leg looks like it hurts! Sounds like you definitely need to stay away from those puggles. We stay away from a few dogs at the dog park too because they are not nice to Luna.
