Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Our little girl has been with us for a year. We just discovered that she has Diabetes and since we have two small active children and we both work I just don't think we will be able to give her the care she would need. She is black and white. She is 30 LBS. I have one month of medication and food I could give. She cost us $1000 but I would be willing to give her to a good home for free. We live in Suwanee GA, Just north of Atlanta.
Please let me know if you would like to know more about her.
Thank you,
Jack

Jack, did your dog come from a rescue? If so, it may be in your adoption contract that she must be returned to them, although I have not heard of a rescue charging a $1000 adoption fee. If you got her from a breeder, it may also be in your contract that she must be returned to them.
But, if that is your "Aussiedoodle" in your profile photo, I think you may have been misled as to her breed. Could we see some better photos?
Has she been spayed? How old is she? Can you give us some idea of the cost of her medication and what kind of care is required?
According to the page of this member who just joined this dog did come from a rescue. It doesn't look at all like a doodle to me.
I can certainly see the Australian Shepherd in this photo--maybe it's an F1 Australian Shepherd-Poodle cross? That is what I think of when I hear "Aussie Doodle."
That's what Aussiedoodles usually are; but we do have a few here on DK, and they don't look like this.
I agree. I also wonder if this dog may have other health problems. It has spotty pigmentation as well as blue eyes and sometimes deafness may be seen in some of these dogs.
But I think the "chrysanthemum" face gives Finn a distinctly doodley look! He's a beautiful pup!
The facial furnishings are from the poodle. What Elizabeth calls the "chrysanthemum". Also the long hair over the eyes. That's characteristic of doodles.
new favorite phrase = facial furnishings.
That really is what that facial hair, beard, etc is called and they have identified the gene for it!
Yes, I agree Finn when wet looks more like his poodle dad. That thick fur really hides his poodle features. Sorry, I was referring to the posted aussidoodle above not looking like it has any poodle. Looks more like a Australian Shepard to me.
