Hello!  I'm going to be bringing home a new goldendoodle puppy in 2 months and am trying to decide what size crate to buy.  We're still not positive whether we'll be getting a boy or girl.  The puppy will be standard sized.  Is 48 in a good size or would a 42 in be big enough?   Thanks so much for your input!

My Bexter is a "mini" - 40 pounds.  His crate is 36 inches long & is perfect for him.

My Maggie is a standard - 60 pounds.  Her crate is 42 inches long & is perfect for her.  She's tall too - 28 inches at least to her head.  I think 42 inches long is PLENTY of room, even for her.

Camus is 84 lbs and his first crate was a 42" long wire crate, the second and current crate is 48" long.  It is large enough for him to stretch out in, which he will do on occasion.
