Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I know that some of you have seen this done to poodles before--I just happened to run across this photo of a grand prize winner in a grooming contest and thought it was, well, somewhere between amazing and weird....I mean, who does this to a dog? Imagine how long the dog has to stand still for all this work--isn't there some other way to demonstrate your talent and creativity? I don't get it...

Umm we need a stronger word than weird! Poor poodle!
I'll bet Jimmy Buffett loves it, though.
It is using another living creature purely for one's own beeds, but I guess humans do that very often.
My only hope is that they do it in stages, so the dog doesn't have to stand there forever. AND that there aren't any mirrors available for that poor dog to look into!!
I'd like to try a little creative grooming on those two humans.
I think it is actually illegal to paint a dog in the state of Florida...I hope so!!!
Do we know how long this took, or how many stages it was done in? That dog doesn't look to ashamed too bothered...
I know that they grow the hair very long over the previous months so that they can sculpt that day and they use dyes that spray on or brush on--not sure--so it is probably 5 or 6 hours--It is a grooming competition, so they probably have to do it that day.
That is ridiculous.Who in their right mind would ever do this to a dog? The dog must be totally humiliated.
Oh no! I have to pick up Sophie from the groomers in a couple hours. I sure hope she doesn't end up looking like this!!
It's ridiculous and amazing all at the same time. But then I think it's kind of crewl to put dogs through what they do just for dog shows.I'll bet though it didn't take as long as you'd think. I've seen professional groomers do some amazing cuts, and styling in a very short time!
